Maybe lilacs just need to be younger to form more flowers. I should try some cuttings, and then drastically cut back the old one if the young ones 'take'. Hmm.
I've used paper egg cartons for seeding this year, but they are not very deep, and I will have to re-pot everything soon.
The good news is that I have had less trouble with “damping-off” this year, and since I can't buy the antidote here in Ontario, (Liberal Gov.), I'm happy it doesn't seem to be happening.
My plants are much smaller than the stuff showing up at the garden centers, but I'm sure they'll catch up in a month.
Great way to put it, Drill Thrawl. (post 116)
LOL, samiam1972 !
You could use it as a science project for your kids. It might be fun for them!
A couple of weeks ago you asked a question about growing potatoes in five gallon buckets. I have been looking for a post by one time FReeper and Master Gardener HiramQuick the link below is a post he made to the thread back in May 2009. It is an excellent tutorial. Sorry for the late response to your post but it took me quite some time searching through years of the gardening threads.
