At least they're not having a son named Bigg.
Thank you ... that was the context, and the term was used by folks who were fans of the full power 10mm. Myself, for example. I'm still a tad bitter ... the .40 S&W is undeniably popular, and it pretty much killed the 10mm. Bummer ...
The .40 is probably the best self defense cartridge out there right now.
I've retired from the "caliber wars". The .40 S&W (short and wimpy or not) has proven itself a reliable fight stopper, most of the time, if the shooter does his job. 9mm Para, .45ACP, .357 Mag, etc are also reliable fight stoppers, most of the time, if the shooter does his job. Shoot what you're comfortable with, use good modern ammo, and don't EVER count on "1 shot stops" from a pistol. Any pistol. When the bad guys have decided not to fight any more they'll let you know ...
My current CCW piece is a 9mm. ;'}
“the .40 S&W is undeniably popular, and it pretty much killed the 10mm”
Speaking of killing off cartridges. Probably my favorite handgun is my 4” S&W 686. A lot of new shooters today think revolvers are quaint but not very effective. I was at the range with it about a year ago when a couple of 20 somethings shooting 9mm said, “What are you doing with that old thing? You know you probably can’t hurt anyone with it?”. I just shook my head and said, “OK”. I guess they weren’t impressed with the 1’ diameter ball of flame out of the end of it.
I love my SIG P229 in .40 S&W...plus, SIG offers a drop-in barrel in .357SIG which is a fun round to shoot.
Just bought the missus a S&W Ladysmith revolver in .38 special+p. Very nice gun...she likes it better than all the semis at her disposal.
Better than “Glock” Johnson, I guess.
Yep. Great name!
yep ... learned everything they know about guns from Hollywood ...
I guess they werent impressed with the 1 diameter ball of flame out of the end of it.
I wonder if any of them had ever seen a bullet hit anything other than a piece of paper.
Some FBI folks == female FBI agents
“I wonder if any of them had ever seen a bullet hit anything other than a piece of paper.”
Hehe. Dunno. I grew up able to shoot in the woods behind my grandmother’s house. We slaughtered watermelons, pumpkins, gallon jugs full of water, paint cans, etc., etc.
LOL
this kid should make up his own version of Idiotocracy
LOL
Well we’ve had dogs named, Winchester, Kimber, Bullet, Chamber, Eider, Marlin....but goodness gracious, they were hunting dogs.:)

Mine too! I love shooting that gun and hitting bullseyes at 50 feet. I sold my M&P 9mm recently. I've got all I need. My Smithy 686 4" is my favorite.
