Where is the Gill tract? I cannot picture any open space in Berkeley, other than People’s Park.

I remember the Berkeley Farms Dairy and their ads which asked, “Farms? In Berkeley?” Their processing plant was actually in Emoryville.

Rest assured the Occucommies will be about as productive as Joe Stalin’s recruits for his collective farms in the 1930s. Stalin seized productive private farms, executed the owners and made them “collective farms. He then sent his Communist true-believers to run the collectives and staffed them with peasants and other non-farm people that he found laying around in the cities.

The “to each according to his needs and from each according to his ability” philosophy soon reduced productivity to zero as people who were willing to work stopped working when they saw that slackers got the same benefits as everyone else. This failed system resulted in a famine that starved tens of millions of Russians to death.

Well, the reason I can’t think of any open space in Berkeley is because the Gill Tract is actually in Albany — down by the University Married Student Housing. Are those ramshackle old buildings still standing? They were ready to fall down in 1960.

Kinda rings a familiar, poignant note doesn’t it?

“We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions.” —Adolf Hitler

(Speech of May 1, 1927. Quoted by Toland, 1976, p. 306)

Hey, these guys are trying not to repeat the mistakes of Pol Pot! You know where he forced all the city dwellers to work in the fields, whereby food production dropped so much the country was starving within months! Pol Pot had kids driving/leading the elders in the fields and these kids knew NOTHING about farming, so they FAILED - MISERABLY!

These Berkeley students want to be agriculturally knowledgeable when they are asked to be “useful idiots!”

As soon as the Occucommies did this, the University engineering staff shut off the water to the Ag School plot.

The Occubums then went to the residential neighbors and asked to use their water. Last I heard, they weren't gettin' any.

Maryland has a terrific University of Maryland agriculture farm. In fact two of them I know about.

With O’Malley as Governor and Pelosi’s enema bag carrier Steny Hoyer as 2nd. in Line at the House. I guess it is the next farm to go.

Agriculture today, tommorrow (with Obamacare) health care. America's Cultural Revolution marches "FORWARD!":
"I saw a country lad no more than twenty years of age in a soldier's uniform. I realized he was not a trained doctor at all but had been given the job because Mao Zedong had said, "We must learn swimming from swimming," when referring to appointing unskilled workers who were politically reliable to do technical jobs. The young man was simply carrying out Mao's order to "learn to be a doctor by being one."

"There were many reports in the newspaper of cases where untrained hospital coolies were said to have performed operations successfully after mastering Mao's quotations."

I wonder if any PhD candidates had their theses ruined by direct destruction or contamination of their research plots?
