Event records are not the issue, & yes, most of us realize (as the article noted) that we’ve had these devices in cars since the 90’s.

This is the issue:

So we better start fighting this right now.

That way lies madness. If you start running away with assumptions of what might be done maybe at some point in the future possibly you have to kill all technology and go back to being Amish. Because it all might maybe at some point in the future possibly be tied to something else to do something bad with it.

Meanwhile back here in the world of the real your car already has it, you already lost this fight.
