Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes said on Sunday he would not have made the latest James Bond film "Skyfall" without Daniel Craig playing the MI6 agent because of the complexity the British actor has brought to the character.
Mendes, who won an Academy Award for directing "American Beauty" in 1999, has depicted troubled men with ordinary lives -a far cry from 007, the ultimate action hero.

Only if they plan on setting it in The Villages.
Correct.
That’s gonna leave a mark.
I liked Dalton, he was “dark” but still had the Bond charm.
Craig better do the Bond girl this time. Not doing Olga Kurylenko in QOS was a crime against humanity on par with the slide whistle from TMWTGG.
Olga is about the only reason I watch “Magic City.” The other girl married to Danny Huston’s psycho character ain’t bad, either.
I will watch Daniel Craig in anything.
I don’t care if it’s a bad movie....and I don’t care if he acts poorly in it either.
Starz disappeared from my channel lineup. I guess I had it free for a year or something.
I saw that show though cause they showed the first 3 episodes on a special preview channel. I like it. Lots of fine tail, the maid girl the younger son likes is hot too. Guess I’ll have to shell out money or use less than “ethical” means to see it, which is a pain in the ass.
Also on Starz, Kelsey Grammer’s “Boss” which I liked. Kathleen Robertson.
Eva Green’s rather lousy “Camelot” was cancelled, King Arthur couldn’t act to save his life. I never watched “Spartacus” but I have a feeling I’d like it.
Sergio Mendes is directing movies now? Could work.
Agreed.
Craig looks to me like the first "real" Bond since Sean Connery.
Craig is 1000 times better than Roger Moore, who camped it up way too much.
Yep. And he's got Brazill 66 doing the costumes.
