If 'we' tie our wagon to Romney, I predict 'we' will lose - and just as big of a loss as McCain't.
I'm sure you're right. But at some point after I've been zotted, round about mid-November of this year, folks like you are gonna be talking about stocking up on food, the availability of ammo, emigrating to New Zealand...when all you had to do was vote for the nominee (whoever it is) and *then* work to steer him/her in the right direction if necessary.
And just out of curiosity,is being a "Yank" enough reason, all by itself,to be zotted? And I'm wondering why you didn't say "Commie" instead of "Yank".
It's spelled C-O-M-M-I-E if that's the reason you didn't.
The Tea Party should coalesce within itself into a new party or one that already exists.
Constitution Party, anyone?
If it was up to me I would zot you just for being a mAsshole.
As am I! Are you located in VA-5, his old district?
No the 7th district, Can’tors district.
The Republican candidates since Reagan left have been sliding leftward with each passing election. I voted for Bush I and II, Dole and McCain. Been there and done it, and have watched the GOP fold in the face of democrat challenges damned near every single time. The topper was the cravenly pathetic excuse for "representation" during the 2010 lame-duck session. Instead of standing tough and telling the dark side "we will not budge because America stands with us," the GOP stepped aside and handed the DADT repeal and New Start to Obama on a silver platter. The submissive, lap-dog - like response to the Kagan and Sotomayor nominations didn't help either.
And now...this... the inevitable nomination of the worst possible candidate on the field.
Good show, GOP.
The GOP is finished if in a miracle Milquetoast Milt wins, the Conservatives will feel the immediate danger has passed and move on to another party(s). But if Obama wins, the field is wide open for ‘16 and the Conservatives may stay for one more round.
I'm thinking four more years of Obama would be the 'tipping point'. I'm not going to throw away my vote and let that happen. I may not like Romney, but I detest the Democrat Party.
I’m thinking that if Romney and the Establishment blow a winnable election, there will be a bifurcation on the Right, probably led by Palin and other conservatives.
They will either purge the GOP of the squishtards or start a new Conservative Party as Harper did in Canada.
It’s worth noting that while Romney had a great week, Obama has a vast money advantage.
Best,
Chris
Sorry, but the Obamas instead will French kiss the GOP-E members who thought Romney was a good choice in the first place. He has a 34 percent approval rating. Thirty. Four. Percent.
>>...The pubs have a lesson or two to learn - the hard way is good by me...<<
Romney is where he is because there are more “registered-repuke-licans” moderates who eagerly supported him and voted for him, than there are tea-party conservatives who voted against him.
Vote however lets you sleep at night. But if you are voting to “teach them pubs a lesson”, I’m pretty sure you are going to be just as disappointed and pissed-off for the entire four years following the election as you are right now, because the gop don’t care how you, I or the whole tea-party community votes. I seriously doubt they will even take notice. They have all those moderate “pubs” (who outnumber us) to keep sending them money and voting like they are told to vote. We need to put the “moderates” in the minority somehow. I have no idea how to do it either.
That is my desire. I believe that if Sarah Palin were to run on a tea party ticket that we could actually win this election in a three-way race.
Even if we lost, we would still be ahead of the game. We've got to start somewhere. The Republican party is DEAD to many of us.
