As a longtime voting Republican, I am going the way of the first dude. Keeping it commonsense and ignoring party affiliation in choosing which candidates best serve my interests and values the most.
It goes without saying that Barack Obama is the worst president in history. We know that. But what most of us also know is the environment in Washington which has plagued and threatened the health of our Republic for decades. They include affiliations to political interests, corporate interests, and the returning of favors to fat-cat campaign donors.
It was this environment along with the medias power to manipulate facts accompanied by a few sissies in the Republican Party that led to Obamas election to begin with.
Its because of money and these same circumstances that we are faced once again with settling for one chosen candidate. If we are forced in choosing between two candidates we dont like in a general election, of course they know were going to vote for the less dangerous of the two. Yet, it doesnt mean nor does it guarantee that the chosen candidate has the average voters best interest at heart over perhaps that of the fillers of their campaign coffers.
Where I have been stuck is mostly derived from the warnings of the Republican elite. You know them: Why not unite and get behind this candidate? Do you want four more years of Obama? Or my personal favorite: Well, of course hes not my first choice, but cmon our country surely cannot withstand four more years of Obama!
So, we have our marching orders: dont ask questions, dont you dare challenge the process, and dont cause us to lose to Obama in November.

The Tea Party should be a 3rd party, forget the commies and rinos.
There is no reason for anyone in California to vote for Mittens. He won’t carry the state, anyway, so we might as well either leave the top spot blank (undervote) or write in Sarah.
I didn’t say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you...
I won’t sell out my principles for fear or spite. Mittens can KMA. If Mitt gets the nod, I’m writing in Palin. The pubs have a lesson or two to learn - the hard way is good by me.
OK,fair enough.So what we'll have then is 1992..over,and over,and over,and over,and over,and over again:
Rat---------->43% of the popular vote-->400 Electoral Votes
Republican->37% of the popular vote-->138 Electoral votes
Tea Party--->20% of the popular vote-->000 Electoral Votes
Just got a note from the White House...they say that if you present yourself at the main gate, you'll be escorted to the Presidential Family Quarters where Michelle Obama will give you a big,wet French kiss.
And then Osama Obama will do the same.
But it's what we have. We do not have a parliamentary system with 4 or 6 parties ... one of which might be just your cup of tea ... to coalesce and break up and usher in Prime Ministers and usher them out with the " No confidence" vote. We do not have proportional representation. In Europe, if a political party gets 5% opf the vote, they just might get a member of parliament ...selected by the party!
We have "winner take all." If you "vote for the best candidate regardless of party" two things can happen: he'll win and so will his party or non-party, appointing a whole bunch of people you might not really like to those positions over you that really run your life ... which elected officials do not do. Or that candidate will lose. But not before taking away a vote that would have put the better man in (See GHWB's tragic screw-up in the election of '92, completely at the hands of Ross Perot, who is the man who really selected Bill Clinton.)
You have recognized that the Republican Party is dieing. It ain't pretty. It smells bad. What we have to figure out is how we can transition to a constitutional party without handing the keys to the kingdom to the Democrats for the next quarter-century .... by which time it is eminently possible there won't be a kingdom.
I am planning to write in Sarah and vote Conservative down the ticket.
P.S. Even if Sarah endorses Mitt, it will not change my mind. My tagline states my position.
I plan to write in Sarah.
LOL. Oh, No! Let me guess - I have cooties, too?
I’m sure our Founders would be proud of your fortitude.
Why not just register Democrat? You’ve already admitted you’re willing to take whatever scraps they throw you. 0bummer is already getting a big wet kiss - Get off your knees and try his lips for once.
Write in Obama same thing.
Writing in Palin tells the libs and the pubs that the game is coming to an end. They’ve proven they are interested in nothing but the same old same old. I’m done with it.
I’ll give them a shot across the bow - they can take it serious, or not. I’m good to go, either way.
The old cliches and scare tactics of the whigs isn’t working on me this time....
You’ve survived a long time. Your zot is coming Yank.
I plan to vote for Virgil Goode if he is the Constitution Party Candidate.
Good for you! You have seen the light!
