The biggest driver of gun sales is movies. Given that guns appear in most action movies, the subject is too ubiquitous to cause an interest (like with archery), but the tools used do spawn great interest by customers. Something new & notable hits the big screen, and suddenly sales for that product spike. Had she used a bolt-action instead of a longbow, we’d see similar results.
