Archery is good for Zombies too!
The biggest driver of gun sales is movies. Given that guns appear in most action movies, the subject is too ubiquitous to cause an interest (like with archery), but the tools used do spawn great interest by customers. Something new & notable hits the big screen, and suddenly sales for that product spike. Had she used a bolt-action instead of a longbow, we’d see similar results.
Considering the much-debated “It’s leftist! No, it’s rightist!” controversy over the movie, glad to see self-sufficiency self-armament is being inspired.

Anyone reading and understanding the books would be purchasing automatic rifles and barrels of ammunition, not bows and arrows.
