I will never forget Archie Bunker’s quote: “People who live in Communes are Comm-u-nists.” Of course, Norman Lear sought to poke fun of such “ignorant” attitudes, but even though I was in 6th grade I knew Archie had hit the nail on the head.
It is remarkable tribute to the power and truth of conservative ideas - that even a Hollywood liberal deliberately working to caricature conservative beliefs, inadvertently motivated you that way, in your youth!
We need to keep working together, to wrest control of the increasingly blatant propaganda-media, out of the grip of that statist oligopoly which now brainwashes American youth with the efficiently of Orwell’s Ministry of Truth.
For too long, we have surrendered education and media to ... communists.
There are many communal societies that are not Marxist, the most important being families and churches.
The important distinction is voluntary versus coerced membership.
I know Carroll O’Conner was very leftists but I liked Archie’s character and agreed with a lot that he had to say. IMHO, Norman Lear was also trying to mock the working class folk as well. I know a lot of libs look down on the working class folks and think they are so superior but the libs are wrong. I have more respect for the person who cleans toilets for a living versus some company executive especially if they are liberal.
