There's a reason, a methodical, brainwashing reason, that every leftist special interest group has adopted the identifier "community", and it's the same reason the word has always seemed somehow disturbing:

That word is used in practice, as a more harmless seeming version of ... THE WORD IT MEANS TO THE LEFT:

"Commune". Yes that word. Communism.

Definition of COMMUNISM
1
a : an inherently evil theory advocating elimination of private property [when you spread the wealth around, everyone benefits]
b : an inherently evil system in which goods are owned in common and are available to all as needed, with “need” determined by political connections [GM bankruptcy assets were available to the UAW but not to the senior bondholders]
2
an inherently evil doctrine based on revolutionary Marxian socialism and Marxism-Leninism that was the official ideology of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics [democrats expect this to turn out better in the United States than everywhere else they tried it]
b : an inherently evil totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of production [see Solyndra and related production efforts]
c : the inherently evil final stage of society in Marxist theory in which the state has withered away and economic goods are distributed “equitably” to people with connections to those in charge of distributing goods.

I will never forget Archie Bunker’s quote: “People who live in Communes are Comm-u-nists.” Of course, Norman Lear sought to poke fun of such “ignorant” attitudes, but even though I was in 6th grade I knew Archie had hit the nail on the head.
