This is Donna Reed’s most prominent role so far. It is interesting that she should appear here on this particular day. In 1945 she will portray John Wayne’s best girl in “They Were Expendable,” a movie about the fall of the Philippines.

Very enjoyable read! On a side note, my family and I have been making short films for several years now and, when we put the cover art together for the dvd box and lobby card, I always create some phony rave review from “Bosley Crowther”. On the lobby card for our latest, CHARLIE CHAN IN TRANSYLVANIA, Mr. Crowther exalts, “This is one cracker-jack mystery!”.
