Samuel L. Jackson was nowhere to be found when an Australian pilot found himself with "Snakes on a Plane" Tuesday.

Air Frontier pilot Braden Blennerhassett was just 20 minutes into a flight from Darwin to the remote Northern Territory community of Peppimenarti to drop off cargo when a snake suddenly appeared in the cockpit.

"Look, you're not going to believe this," he told air traffic controllers, "I've got snakes on a plane."

Blennerhassett was forced to make an emergency landing after the unusual mayday call.

"Sure enough, out of the corner of my eye, I see a little bit of movement there," he told Australia's ABC.

"Lo and behold, in between the instrument panel and the dashboard, a stowaway came on board and it took me a while to register that it was actually a snake. I turned [the plane] around and got it headed back towards Darwin."

The 26-year-old pilot said his blood pressure and heart rate were elevated by the alarming sight.

"As the plane was landing, the snake was crawling down my leg, which was frightening," he told 9News.

The pilot was male, so it could have been his dry leg...

LOL, you can make joke out of anything... You should go volunteer script writer for David Letterman to raise his rating. My experience with snakes they don’t bite unless they feel threatened or you accidentally stepped at them. That snake was trapped in the plane looking for way out.

At least the pilot remained cool and didn't mention the half word, mother, several times. I believe I would have developed a sudden case of Tourette's.

I have no problem with most snakes; poisonous ones seem to be inherently nasty. Here on the Farm, they’re very handy and helpful. We have 5-6ft Black Rat Snakes, Milk Snakes and Corn Snakes, and they’re mostly friendly, disposing of many vermin and we leave them alone.

Here’s a common way to beware of a snake:

“Red on yellow will kill a fellow, but red on black is a friend of Jack.”
“Red on yellow, deadly fellow; Red on black, venom lack.”
“ Red and yellow will kill you fellow; Red and black is friend Jack.”
“Red on yellow, kill a fellow. Red on black, you’re alright Jack.”
“Red next to black is a friend of Jack; red next to yellow will kill a fellow.”
“Red to yellow, kill a fellow. Red to black, venom lack.”
“If red touches black, you’re okay Jack; if red touches yellow, you’re a dead fellow.”
“Red next to black, you can pat him on the back; red next to yellow, he can kill a fellow.”
“Red next to black, venom I lack; red next to yellow, run away fellow.”
“Red and black, friend of Jack; red and yellow kill a fellow.”
“Red touches yellow, Not a nice fellow; if red touches black, good friend of jack.”
“Red touch yellow, kill a fellow; red touch black, you’re okay Jack.”
“Red touch black, good for Jack; red touch yellow, kill a fellow.”
“Yellow and red, you are dead; black and white you’re allright.”

LOL! Works sometimes; sometimes it doesn’t. Wear heavy, tall rubber boots, just to be safe.
