A Bigfoot hunt guide leading a tour in a national park this week got slapped with a finenot for messing with Sasquatch, but for leading an expedition without a permit.
The guide, Matt Pruitt of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, charges tourists $300 to $500 each to go on a hunt for evidence of the existence of the elusiveor perhaps nonexistentman-beast of the wilderness.
Rangers at Buffalo National River in Arkansas stopped Pruitt and his 31-member party and cited him for bringing a paying tour group into the park without permission. The park service fined him $525.
Pruitt readily paid the fine, according to a story in The Republic. "I think it was a fairly innocent mistake," he told that publication. "At first they were very concerned that we were filming, that we were trying to get away with commercial filming without a permit. Once those concerns were satiated, there were other concerns."
Chief ranger Karen Bradford explained in her incident report that charging for the tour made Pruitt a concessionaire, which meant he was engaging in a business without a permit or written agreement with the park.

Wonder what they would have charged to look for squashes in Washington.

There's a minimum of 10's of thousands of people in Arkansas with big feet.
Not hard to find at all!
So, basically, his offense was not to give the Park Service their share of the loot.
Imagine the fearful ructions had Diogenes showed up looking for an honest ParcPerson?
This happening in Arkansas reminds me of the movie The Legend of Boggy Creek. Look up Fouke monster.
Silly tour guide, looking for Bigfoot in Arkansas, when everyone knows she was in Las Vegas last week, and then in Hollywood last night getting slimed.
