I was just sickened by this news. I wish him successful surgery and pray that this will not be a factor in his future when he is healed and back on the floor.

This young guy has done more for Pro Basketball than anyone I know. I love college footbll (Go ACC!) but never had an interest in the pro stuff until Lin came along. Of course my intense interest in the Chinese and its culture helped to even watch the pro stuff. But I did and am now a Knicks fan. Some interesting players there — and not all have tatoos! And I have talked to more people who are now watching because of this young player.

BTW — Lin’s Chinese given name - Shu Hao — translates out to “study” and “outstanding”. Far thinking by his parents!!

Lin and the Knicks reminded me how so much of the game is "between the ears".

He came on the scene when the Knicks' two biggest stars were out with injuries, and they went on an incredible run.

Then, Anthony and Stoudemire came back, and they faltered.

Then, they fired the coach, and went on another great run.

Now they've lost their spark plug. What next? It takes just a few changes to make a team go one way, or the other, even though the foundation is there.

How do you say “flash in the pan”, in Chinese????

No knees = no long term career!
