According to a report from the AP, Spike Lee will compensate the McLain family, who fled their home after Spike Lee wrongly tweeted that Trayvon Martin's killer, George Zimmerman, lived at their address The couple's attorney, Matt Morgan, announced the settlement Thursday. Morgan says Lee called them to apologize for retweeting their address.
Specifics of the settlement weren't disclosed.
Elaine and David McClain are in their 70s and say they have a son named William George Zimmerman, who lived in their Sanford area home in the mid-1990s. They say he is no relation to 28-year-old George Zimmerman, who killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26.
Lee had tweeted his apology to the McClains early Thursday morning.

He did kill him that isn’t even in question. The question is whether it was justified. So Allegedly does not belong in that sentence.
Since they are White, Lee will give them a coupon for 10% off at Motel 6 and a couple of Southwest inflight snacks.
Unfortunately their lawyer was Matt Morgan. Morgan is Obama’s number #1 florida bundler and just had a big fundraiser at his house for Obama last month. Within a day they had accepted a settlement and have been on the TV saying that Lee was so sincere. You can bet they weren’t given the best advice.
Knew they had hired the Morgans. Hadn’t heard they settled already. Hopefully they will have somebody else review their settlement.
I want to see the check. Trust, but verify.
