Morgan says Lee called them to apologize for retweeting their address.
Specifics of the settlement weren't disclosed.

I hope they sue this slime back to the ghetto he came from.
I wonder if Twitter would allow me to set-up a KillSpikeLee or KillRoseanneBarr account.
First class prick.
Spike Lee. What a returd.
Allegedly. Where's the "allegedly"?
Spike Lee is not from the ghetto, he was born into a solidly middle class household.
True, but sometimes he acts like he’s from the hood.
Compensation should be enough for this couple to buy a new home at whatever address they desire.
Don’t get too morally superior, I’ve seen folks here post incorrect information about people they didn’t like for political reasons. This certainly isn’t something that is unique to the left, or to famous people.
Since there are three of them, one of them should bargain hard and take a settlement while the other two should sue. That way they can have it both ways. During the trial, the second person should accept a settlement and the third person should go to the jury and give speeches about how ALL THREE of them feared for their lives and try to run up the damages to be paid.
A lot of blacks who are born into well-to-do households, tend to have guilt, and try to compensate for it.
Did it force those people to flee their houses? Don't think so.
That was fast. You know Lee’s first reaction would have been, “Sheeeet, I ain’t giving them honky m....f.....s nuttin!”. Cooler heads must have sat him down and said, “Listen you stupid SOB. This goes to court and you’re toast”. I hope they took him for at least 7 figures.
Please, you post a phone number or address of someone on the internet and encourage folks to call or torment them that is harrassment, regardless of your political bent. You think people haven’t had their lives severely harmed by spiteful actions on the internet, you are foolish.
And yes, I’ve seen it happen here.
People need to think before they act, and political world view does not give a pass to folks who agree with you doing it.
Anyone doing such things, even if they have the right information, and often it turns out to be wrong, are nothing more than petty cowards, and frankly I think whatever a persons reasons for doing it, they should be punished.
We cannot have a civil society if we cannot engage in basic civility. Yes, I am sure Spike’s tweet got to more people than a post on Free Republic, but that doesn’t mean folks on the right haven’t done similar things.
When? Everytime I’ve seen somebody here try to do it, the mods get rid of it quickly.
There is no compensation he can make to these people. For Heaven’s sakes, these people are in there 70’s and this was there home. They will never feel safe there for years. They will have to move.
They have people going to prison for stupid little mistakes and calling it hate crimes, well this is a hate crime if ever i saw one.
And the presidents remarks were just as hateful, instigating hate and racism in my country.
Only if they turned out to be decent people. Witch they are not. They hate from the leftist aka progressives towards decent people will never end.
Posting incorrect information to gain political advantage is one thing. Posting a person's address to specifically incite violence against that person, at their place of residence is a whole different issue.
I agree anything less than a million is unacceptable..he put their life at risk
