Okay, I admit it. I'm ADDICTED to the Cleopatra slot machine. My wife even more than I am. To find out why, check out this VIDEO of a Cleopatra slot machine in action with its incredibly alluring sound effects...especially the "BOING" sounds of the bonus Sphinxes.
Normally the Cleopatra machines benefit those with INCREDIBLE will power since they will give FREQUENT payouts because they know most people will continue playing until they LOSE. However, over the past few years we are over $400 ahead. A word of warning here. There are more than one type of Cleopatra slot machine. They look subtlety different so I can't tell you what the differences are but I know them when I see the machine. We went to a different casino last week and the other Cleopatra slot machine really sucked. Stingy payouts because I guess this one didn't have confidence people would continue playing.
Next casino trip we go to the one with the GOOD Cleopatra slot machines. What I do is pull my wife away from the machine when she is ahead which is often with that particular machine. However, the next time I will put her on the Mexican themed Chilli machine with the Cleopatra winnings since if you bet 40 cents you can get a lot of play time for not much money. So if we win $40 on the GOOD Cleopatra machine, we put that money into the Chilli machine and go for EXACTLY 100 spins and STOP no matter where we are at.
How about with a Lutheran? BTW, Charles, you won't believe the LOW LIFES at the casino I go to with the GOOD Cleopatra machines. I try not to pay attention to them but they are really LOW. I mean like they won't tip the waitresses at the prime rib buffet and then they curse them out when they don't hurry up and refill their drinks. Like I said, I keep myself focused on the machines because a lot of those folks really revolt me.
Eh! Not getting the coins is no big deal to me. With the receipt I can get paper cash right away without the hassle of turning in the coins for CASH.
I’ve only been to Las Vegas once and stayed at the Luxor, coincidently. The room and meals were quite reasonable. So who pays for all that fancy decor and pools and shows and lighting, I thought to myself. Weren’t me. Give Doug my thanks.
I play the home version of slot machines: I just open a window and throw my money out. If it’s a good window, I only throw out ten or twenty bucks.
Im with you,I hadnt been to a casino in at least 20 years.one opened up near me and I took my wife there for a day of fun.Well for me the thrill was always the coins hitting the cup.My extreme sadness in having things go on my card or reciept ruined my fun real fast.Went there with the idea of maybe spending 100 dollars,we were both bored out of our minds before we even spent 10.00.we havent been back.
I played the Cleo penny machine in NOLA several years ago. Went down $20 before turning the next $5 into $200. Haven’t played since.
This thread is now about slots.
Loose slots.
Having been a resident of Nevada for more than 20 years I
can state categorically that people who believe that they
can win at gambling are delusional. All those fancy slot
machines and velvet tables inside that giant gilded fancy
building weren’t payed for by the $$$ the casinos pay out to
winners. They were built on the $$$ that casinos take from
gamblers. Every person I know who gambles has a mind block that only allows them to remember how much they won....they can never seem to remember how much $$$$$ they put out in order to win $$.
Don’t even talk to me. I stay out of casino’s. I used to be addicted to Kangaroo, a video game, because it was so cute. Lost quarters on it is all.

In the old days of mechanical machines it was a good strategy to stay at one machine. With modern microchips they can randomize millions of numbers per second and your odds of winning don't change no matter how long you stay there.
Your studies were wrong. I speak with 7 years design experience in slot games and have personally worked on Cleopatra games.

I prefer to actually get on my roof on a windy day, with a fist full of ones. I just chuck them to the breeze!
Care to expound, or did you just want the pleasure of telling me that I am wrong?
60%- 80% payback rate is way low. You will not find a machine in the US and Canada that pays less than 85%. The typical payback range for games is 85% - 98%. In North America, Nevada regs are pretty much standard with some variations. The largest regulatory bodies are Nevada and Gaming Laboratories International(GLI). I have never seen a game that pays less than 85%. As someone that designs games for international markets, I am curious what game you claim pays 60%.
Almost as good as the Jeannie machine saying "Yes, master"?
Ah, you think my stats were wrong - and they probably were.
Thank you.
On the other hand, my point stands - the games are not designed to rip off the customer, they are designed to get him to come back next payday.
And lose all his money again.
So is there any way to tell how loose a machine is?
