You’re putting way too much effort into being offended if you think the hail mary and conversions references are double entendres. They’re standard football terms, they were standard football terms before Tebow was born, and assuming the sport finds a way to survive the concussion crisis they’ll be standard football terms long after he you and I are dead.

You think that since Hail Mary is a common football term, it isn’t intended as a joke.
But it is paired with other anti-Christian allusions that make me think it is part of a theme of making fun of Tebow’s faith.
*”Jeremy Lin Entourage Member” — that is an insult to both Christian athletes. Come on, can’ you see it?
*”Team chaplain” — no player is a team chaplain, so this is directly making fun of his faith. That is an unfair slam.
*Team chaperone” — why would they say this if not trying to be humorous at Tebow’s expense?
These are personal cuts to the guy’s religion I think.
