FACEBOOK(@#$%&*!!)

Posted on 03/20/2012 6:12:53 PM PDT by mamelukesabre

I believe this is my second rant about facebook. I am getting increasingly disappointed in the human race every time I look at the useless people on facebook. Are there any frequent users of facebook that are *NOT* washed up old chain smoking male bashing hags on their 3rd or 4th husband and who look 15 years older than their birthday indicates? Not counting the non-breeding-prius-driving-never-married-lezbos that is.

If I see one more disgusting picture of a fat ugly spandex wearing witch, drunk in a bar, with her fat ugly butch haircut wearing hairy-forearmed girlfriends I'm going to go totally "Michael Douglass" in "Falling Down"!

Don't even get me started on the $%^&*#@ cat pics!!!

OR THE DAILY POOR HEALTH REPORTS!

OR THE DRUG ADDLED TEENS WHO PUBLICLY INSULT THEIR PARENTS!

I

CAN'T

TAKE

IT

How about you just don’t go on Facebook? I’ve never signed up, and I never will.

Problem solved.

I’m the opposite of you — I can’t for the life of me figure out what is the fascination with Twitter.

I like Face Book — even though I was dragged there kicking and screaming by not only half my HS classmates, but my 13yo daughter!

I do find it a wonderful way of keeping in touch with friends and family -— and keeping up on Conservatives issues :-)

Facebook is cool (and I thought I’d never say it.) I wish I had invented it. But I did meet a man 17 years ago who had an idea like it, as well as an idea for a pad computer. Not some barstool wise guy, but an Indian with two Ph.Ds. I don’t know if he ever followed these ideers, I know that today he’s still where he was then, a teacher at a community college, which is to say, nowhere.

The coolness of it is that it’s an information delivery system where you yourself choose what kinds of information you wish to receive and from what sources. Diss it if you have to, or use it to your advantage.

Well, I wouldn’t go that far. I have no interest in using it, but if others want to or feel the need to, power to them.

The concept just feels too much like a virtual crate to stand on with your arms in the air yelling “Me! Me! Me!”

Now, I know it is nothing like that, because nearly everyone else I know uses it (except my wife!) but it just has no appeal to me.

But hey, that’s me.

I use it to contact family and old friends. They are all ok. I also. Doing to a closed conservative group.

Back in the 1980s when I was at Digital Equipment Corporation we had a world wide network and interacted with each other through a program called VAXnotes. We knew then that when the web came, the ability for people to make complete asses of themselves online to a huge amount of people was inevitable.

Our theory was proven out. Those were good days when us self entitled elites could discuss things like religion and politics without the fecal matter that gets widely splattered against the wall now days.

Twitter?

Sum up your life in 140 characters or less?

Funny thing is, for most of the twits, 140 characters is probably more than sufficient!
Overkill even!

;-)

Good ole DEC. Could’ve invented Facebook, did invent a search engine, and couldn’t monetize it when it was Nr. 1.

I have 126 friends on FB. While that's not a lot of FB friends, not one fits your description.

If we did we wouldn’t have been able to sell it. LOL!

Was such an awesome company. None of the forum software these days compares to VAXnotes. It’s still the best.

True about VAXNotes. What about DCL and VAXTPU. I’m an old VAXman, missing that OS and Decus conferences to this day. UNIX won, unbelievabe!
