“Neither Romney nor Santorum were qualified in the Illinois primary ... They made a deal “
Mitt Romneys vaunted organization nearly failed him in Illinois, where he only remained eligible for delegates on the ballot after a negotiated truce between his campaign and Rick Santorums people.
The problems stem from the campaign relying on Illinois state Treasurer Dan Rutherford. He struggled to acquire enough signatures to qualify for Romneys delegates and then had the statement of candidacy notarized out of state, which the Santorum campaign challenged despite having its own statement of candidacy notarized in Iowa.
Had Santorums campaign been successful with its challenge to Romney, the error could have led to disqualifying Romney from winning any of the states delegates.
The petition standoff took place in early January, well before Santorum had risen to be Romneys chief rival for the GOP nomination. It began when Romneys campaign challenged the Santorum petitions in 10 of the 14 congressional districts in which the former Pennsylvania senator submitted delegate slates.
Santorum did not qualify at all in four of 18 Illinois congressional districts.

So what? Your guy isn’t even making an effort to win.
How many more states will the broke Newt skip?
Man, what a warrior.
It’s just a dry run............
Wow, look at that. The State government can execute an entire election without voters. That in and of itself is scary. Almost as scary as millions of Americans knowing 0bama has committed document fraud and nothing is done about it.
I posted this earlier as a way to get some laughs on IL primary day...the Paulistas were furious that Ron Paul barely got more fake votes than Buddy Roemer!
Although the fake votes were obviously made up by a Santorum fan.
That’s odd. Looking closely at the Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama results, I have yet to see any of this “result skewing.” If there were, it extends to Democrats putting out lawn signs as well. The areas where he won are full of his campaign signs by comparison with the others. He won the conservative(2/3) and independent leaning conservative(3/3) votes.
Good grief, the state tests their election systems. I'd be scared if they DIDN'T run tests like this.
The conspiracy mongering here seems to be a bit out of control at the moment. Has infowars been down lately or something?
But there MUST be software which prevents publication of test runs to the actual election results website.
Santorum 987,453 32%
Romney 919,993 29%
Newt 876,937 28%
Ron Paul 95,106 3%
OK
But I hate to see a grown man cry..
Po lil ol Willie Mitty looks just terrible with red swollon eyes
:)
Please. Please. Please. Let these be the results. Heck Democrats cheat all the time....our turn now. Of course I am kidding but if these end up results I am thrilled!!!
Infowars, LOL! Hey, the Bilderberg meeting just adjourned and we all agreed that Illinois can ‘test run’ all they want and that is a GOOD thing, but publish it to the actual election results page? NOT GOOD because then Infowars’ phones start ringing and blog threads explode!
If they had “Huntsman” winning, there’s your story ....
Green with envy is a sin. Better take care of that soon.
There probably is, but just like the e-mail button “REPLY TO ALL”, you have to click on it............
Oh, yeah?
1) In the exit polls, 8 to 10% of the voters desribed themselves as democrats.
2) In the latest polls, 12 hours before the elections, Gingrich was leading Santorum with 6 to 8 points. Santorum lagged behind in the third place ...
3) ...and Santorum “won”? With the help of Michel Moore, unions and the democrats’ operation ‘Hillarity’...
Just connect the dots.
The dude really needs to do his homework.. seriously!!! I doubt that the voter turnout is going to triple over the 2008 Illinois primary. If 3 million people vote, I’ll be the most shocked person on this board. During the ‘08 Illinois primary roughly 1 million voted. End of story!!
Illinois election officials: Ballot problem will likely delay GOP primary results is there voter fraud.
