Oh, you should have been around for the Nuclear Hot Water Tank Explosion a few weeks back. I replaced both elements one evening after the hot water stopped, then it died again the next morning, so then I put a new thermostat control module on it, took a hot shower, and went to work. The missus calls an hour later - she said she heard a big bang come from the utility closet, so she ran outside to throw the breaker, and when she walked back into the kitchen, the entire bottom of the tank blew open and scared the bejeezus out of her. By the time she got to the water main cutoff, we had a swimming pool inside. It took two days to wet/dry vac the living room carpet clean. Needless to say, I put in a cutoff valve in the cold water intake pipe when I replaced it. While all that was going on, we had a cascade failure of all the electrical outlets at the opposite end of the house, and I spent a day replacing all of them when I wasn't wet from the plumbing problem. We must have taken a power surge - that was all a little too coincidental.
So, how's things?

"As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their hearts desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."
