Shocking for a 23 year-old. I was actually watching this game when it happened. Incredible scenes...

It reminds me of Hank Gathers and Reggie Lewis. Just running down the court and then they drop. He must have some heart defect for a 23 year old to have a heart attack. Hopefully he recovers.

Those are the two I thought of as well when I saw this. Just a few years ago there was another soccer player from Cameron around the same age that actually had the same thing happen and didn’t make it. At least Muamba is still alive, though in bad shape.

Fox Soccer Channel had this game on its schedule (on tape delay) but did not air it as scheduled. I wonder if the heart attack is the reason.

Yep, that’s probably why, though they also abandoned the game after Muamba went done, so there also really wasn’t a game to show in the end (rightfully so, of course). Fox Soccer also covered the game live, which is how I saw it.

I’m sure he has a lot of people praying for him.

“In total, six medics were treating the player”

Wow, that pretty much wiped out London’s medical community - hopefully no one else had a problem during that time.

and credit to the Tottenham fans too who didn’t not act like wankers.

Hopefully he’;ll pull through but seeing a 23 year old have an heart attack who is prime condition should warn us all.

Update - Muamba still in critical condition in the cardiac care unit. Based on details coming out, seems incredible he’s alive at all.
