Newt or Rick?
Vanity ^ | 3/15/2012 | Self

Posted on 03/15/2012 11:25:43 AM PDT by Graybeard58

I'm so sick of all the fighting and mud slinging between Newt and Rick supporters,, I could puke. Neither one is the enemy. We have a real and immediate enemy in Mitt Romney.

Like many others here, I'll not vote for Romney if he's anywhere on the Republican ticket, I'll not vote for Obama either and for those of you who will tell me that not voting for Romney in the general if he's the nominee, is the same as voting for Obama, I just don't give a rats ass any more. I'm getting way too old to settle for the lesser of two evils anymore, I did that for my very last time with McCain.

I'll vote down ticket as conservatively as possible and when Mitt gets his butt kicked in the general, maybe, just maybe, the GOP elite will learn a lesson to quit foisting liberals on us.

I'd love to see either Santorum or Gingrich as the next POTUS, failing that, I hope and pray for both houses of congress to be dominated by Republicans and dream of dreams, may they all be conservative.

"Newt should drop out, for the good of the party", "Rick should drop out for the good of the party".

What B.S.! Ask yourself the question, What would I do at this point in the campaign if I were either candidate? Look in the mirror and answer it honestly.

For those of you who are "sick and tired" of vanities, look at the heading, it clearly shows it's a vanity - don't click on it to begin with and please note, I did not put this in "breaking news", it's in 'general chat".

I live in Illinois and at this late date, I still am not sure which candidate I’ll vote for in our primary but for certain, it will be Santorum or Gingrich.

I believe that Newt is clearly the better person but I understand your point that we should stop the bickering amongst ourselves.

Maybe you should have sent this to RS and his campaign before they shamelessly piled on top of Newt (behind their leader Mitt) in Iowa, New Hampshire, Florida.....etc.......

When you hear back from them, get back to me, if RS can answer why he ran more anti Newt stuff in Iowa, NH and Florida than anti Mitt stuff. I’ll be standing by.

Agree with the frustration, but not with your refusal to vote for Mitt. Not trying to change your mind, but I don’t see Mitt as the lesser of two evils. Obama is evil, Mitt is RINO, but I don’t think he hates America and what it stands for. I would MUCH rather vote for Newt, and would be OK with Rick, but I WILL be voting in November for the (R) candidate to rid the White House of the loser and his wife.

Newton LeRoy or Rick John. Anyone but Willard or BO works for me.

Go Newt! :)

“I don’t see Mitt as the lesser of two evils...”

I see Obama as a communist. I see Romney as a socialist.

Ergo, Romney is the lessor of 2 evils.

“I understand your point that we should stop the bickering amongst ourselves.”

Unless that person just happens to be an “Anybody But Obama” person, then the bickering is back on. The Prime Directive must continue to be, to send that disrespectful America hating A-hole back to Chicago. Romney is not my choice, but if he goes all the way to the convention, then Yes I will be there in November voting Obama out. Sitting at home is NOT an option.

I don't know where you thought you placed this vanity but it showed up at the top of breaking news.

If you are so vain to post a vanity that basically says some body beat you at stick ball, so you are taking your ball home because you are old and don't give a rat's ass, piss off, take your ball and go home.

You gotta graybeard? Shave closer, and I don't give a fat rat's ass that you don't give a rat's ass, if you don't vote you are voting for obama, you nasty old selfish graybearded lout.

Agree.

One of the problems with a spirited campaign is that people begin to look at the smaller differences between the candidates and forget that we are on the same side.

That isn’t to say that some differences aren’t big enough to make a major issue about. Personally, I see Romney as the enemy, simply because he has aided and abetted in the slow but certain gradual erosion of our culture and appears to have no intentions to reverse its course.

But Rick and Newt are on the same side, as are Perry, Bachmann, Cain, and many others.

One last thing: It should be noted that the real flamethrowers on each side are rather limited. There are two or three on this site for Santorum and perhaps six or eight for Gingrich who spew most of the vitriol here. The much more numerous, and quieter, majority don’t typically share those feelings.

I’m for Rick, but I like Newt and like hearing what he has to say.

I think that both Romney and Obama are handbasket drivers heading to the cesspool at the bottom of the slippery slope—at different speeds, perhaps, and with different models of handbaskets—but handbasket drivers nonetheless.

We need people like Rick and Newt at the wheel.

When President Romney embraces, then expands the Obama agenda, the voters will turn on the GOP in 2014, just as they did when Bush 41 broke his tax pledge in 1990. As the Romney presidency wears on, we may increasingly see the Obama years as the good old days.

I’m with you, Graybeard. I refuse to play this stupid Hobson’s Choice game. I will not vote for Commie or Commie-Lite.

Eff both of them.

If Romney becomes the Republican nominee, I’ll write in Sarah Palin and hunker down for Revolution II. We need another one anyway.

This is what happens during primaries. And people here have chosen their candidate for specific reason. I have no idea what Santorum’s ideas for the economy. Both Romney & Newt have talked about their ideas. Santorum gets bogged down in other issues that make him look like he’s not ready for prime time. Like the porn thing from the Daily Caller. Really, “it’s the economy stupid”! He gets way too distracted by this kind of thing which is why I think he’s not ready for prime time. He should be telling them he’d rather talk about his ideas for turning the country around. One of the big issues we have with 0bama is his attempt to turn the government into our nanny. People are not going to vote for another person who wants to do the same kind of thing but with a conservative agenda. Between the 0bama administration and the media, they’ll have Rick so distracted by these social issues he’ll have himself in knots and no one will know where he stands on the economic problems facing the country. Heck, I’m here every single day. I read Santorum threads every day and I still don’t know what his economic policies are.

Newt...

Little Ricky ain't got the chops for the Job.

We need a bit of a B@$tard to fix this mess, no rookies or slicksters, and Newt has that rough edge.

We either get Newt or the Republic is over...

End of Story..

Maybe you should have sent it to Gingrich before his rant bashing conservatives who dared to criticize him for supporting his buddy Dede Scozzafava. Gingrich has a grudge against conservatives that goes back to the 90s, and if he ever gets the chance, he'll take conservatism out to the woodshed. All the other GOP candidates criticized Romney from the right. Gingrich? he attacked him from the left, telling us how evil capitalism is. (stolen from the pages of Mother Jones)

Our real and immediate enemy is BHO. I would vote for a spam sandwich to replace that feckless impersonator.

Not that I’m for it, but the fact is, if the GOPe, media, and pollsters succeed in cramming Romney down our throats, conservatives just won’t show up. I don’t think I could make myself get to the polls simply because I’d be too beaten down and discouraged.

This is our Alamo, folks. We either stop them, all three GOPe, media, AND POLLSTERS, or we lose.

Gingrich, the guy who agreed to pay a $300k fine, WHEN HE WASN'T GUILTY. WORST NEGOTIATOR EVER. The guy who admitted, "Clinton made him melt," and would do whatever Clinton wanted?

If Gingrich gets elected, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi will be running the country. You want that?

Graybeard is right, and here’s why. Another 4-year reign by Obama is not the end of the world. It might be just what we need to WAKE UP AMERICA.

Don’t underestimate the intelligence of the voters. Just get them to pay attention, and get them mad.
