REALLY? Is This What Your Campaign Is About? Won't Work!

Santorum and Romney are dead in the water. What is the matter with these guys? They should have one message, and one message only. Let's talk about all the things that Obama said he would be, and wasn't! That is all it will take to beat him. Santorum is now going to focus on internet porn. Wonderful! I will tell you that as of right now I would say that only Newt will know how to stay "on message". One thing Newt knows better than the other two is that instead of talking about each groups issue, bring all the groups into a common issue and talk to them all.

“Let’s talk about all the things that Obama said he would be, and wasn’t! That is all it will take to beat him.”

Republicans may be easily led estray into irrelevant and unpopular issues, but broken campaign promises? You think that’s a winner? Obama’s a politician, for peteing out loud. You might as well accuse him of occassionally using blue language.

Newt has been spot on at times, and seemed to get off the game plan at other times. The week of the Florida push, he was back on the populist push going at Romney for his business experience. He lacked a good message aimed at Floridians, and he got killed. He did the stupid moon base comment instead of hitting Obama and Romney on their policy failures. Of these guys, I like Newt best, but he really disappointed down here in presenting a central message, too. He was all over the place and made strategic errors.

That’s been one of my concerns for Santorum. He has trouble staying on message for a national audience and keeps reverting to his personal agenda.

If this doesn’t change, if he gets the nomination, he will fail to become president.

Off message(Obama) killed Newt. It will kill Santorum as well.

Rick is a true gentleman. Sadly, he just isn’t big enough for the job he’s seeking.

That is entirely possible.

Out of 300 million people, only one can be president.

Internet porn irrelevant? Anyone with a child that has a tablet computer would beg to disagree. Try searching “barbie” on Google images for your child to color. Pretty sick the way porn is everywhere.

Its simple really. All x-rated content should be forced onto a .xxx domain. Then anyone who wants to block .xxx domains can easily do it. Those who want porn can have at it. Problem solved.

He also has a hard time recognizing the limits of federal authority. He's against Obama's overreach of authority but he's ok using the power of DC to address his own pet peeves.

And the porn companies want that too -- that way, they can dispense with age verification, because it would be assumed that anyone who can access that TLD has adult permission to do so.

The two problems are

1) Politics -- anyone who supports this move will be blasted as either an enabler of porn or a prude. Yes, completely opposite and bordering on hypocrisy, but a liberal will be hammered as the former and a conservative as the latter, if either propose this.

2) Porn vendors -- let's face it, these are not folks noted for their high moral standards. There's no guarantee that giving them a segregated internet playground is going to keep them off the "safe" portion of the internet.

Forcing content by domain is all good until you are forced to buy many more domains to keep your branding from being utilized in another domain. eg. icwhatudo.com and icwhatudo.xxx would need to be purchased to stop Google from sending your customers to the dark side. This may not be a problem for you because you will block the .xxx sites from view, however, a significant majority of your customer base will not.

Everybody who’s not in the game is always an expert.

And those who can't put a cogent argument together resort to vague put downs. Why is he wrong and why would Rick be the better, more focused, more conservative candidate? His best stuff has already been spoken by Newt and while being a Christian is desireable, it should just be a fact, not the whole platform.

There is not “one thing” that Newt knows better than the other two but rather a massive array of things Newt knows better than the other two.

Imagine how many moonbats would drop dead from BP spike if Newt picks Sarah as Veep.

It would look like an Itchy and Scratchy marathon.

I have children, and that requires me to be a parent. The porn thing is hard and requires great effort. I like the idea of .xxx that sounds like it is easy to employ and should at least be done, even if it does not solve the whole problem.

I will add that my problem was catching my sons with pictures of classmates that were sent from phones. That is the bigger problem.

You are right. I ran for office once and lost. I have run three campaigns for others quite successfully. Staying on message wins. Take a good theme and pound it home, and pound it home, and pound it home!

The innocent bystander in the empty suit won with two words ... Hope and Change .. pounded it home, and won!

It's the economy stupid!

Are you better off than you were four years ago!

Quite honestly, Newt/Palin would be the right/best ticket.

It would really show us how stupid/smart the average voter is. I think that Palin was the reason McCan't did as good as he did.

“Internet porn irrelevant?”

Yes. It’s none of the feds’ business.
