Internet porn irrelevant? Anyone with a child that has a tablet computer would beg to disagree. Try searching “barbie” on Google images for your child to color. Pretty sick the way porn is everywhere.

Its simple really. All x-rated content should be forced onto a .xxx domain. Then anyone who wants to block .xxx domains can easily do it. Those who want porn can have at it. Problem solved.

And the porn companies want that too -- that way, they can dispense with age verification, because it would be assumed that anyone who can access that TLD has adult permission to do so.

The two problems are

1) Politics -- anyone who supports this move will be blasted as either an enabler of porn or a prude. Yes, completely opposite and bordering on hypocrisy, but a liberal will be hammered as the former and a conservative as the latter, if either propose this.

2) Porn vendors -- let's face it, these are not folks noted for their high moral standards. There's no guarantee that giving them a segregated internet playground is going to keep them off the "safe" portion of the internet.

Forcing content by domain is all good until you are forced to buy many more domains to keep your branding from being utilized in another domain. eg. icwhatudo.com and icwhatudo.xxx would need to be purchased to stop Google from sending your customers to the dark side. This may not be a problem for you because you will block the .xxx sites from view, however, a significant majority of your customer base will not.

I have children, and that requires me to be a parent. The porn thing is hard and requires great effort. I like the idea of .xxx that sounds like it is easy to employ and should at least be done, even if it does not solve the whole problem.

I will add that my problem was catching my sons with pictures of classmates that were sent from phones. That is the bigger problem.
