I had a little 4# Chihuahua-poodle mix that would not respond to any name I called her. Until the day I said, “Well, you silly dog: Maybe you think you’re a cat!” Then I said, “Here kitty!” And she came running.

She was a really sweet little dog.

I saw a comic strip several years ago--I think it was Rick O'Shay--in which a cat looks on in horror as a man commands his dog to sit, roll over, heel, etc.--and the dog obediently complies.

"Poor dog," says the cat to himself. "He'll never make it as a cat."
