Cool.
We’re ‘thicker than thieves’, now.
;D
Indeed, LOL!
Can we be pirates?
I love the boots and the hats.
;D
Only if you can execute a proper “Arrrrrrggghhhhh!” and promise to fly the Jolly Roger. Oh.....and wear an eye patch. Gotta have the eye patch.
; p
I had a miniature poodle that was extremely vicious when I'd bring home rib bones.
I can, I do and I will!
Arrrrrrh matey!
You want to tell the airlines, why? I bet they will feel very much like I do...it is your dog and once I’ve said no...I’ve already turned your business down. I’ve already made up my mind I do not need to do business with you.
Telling me you are taking your business elsewhere and why,
...uh, I already told you I don’t want your business for the very reason you are taking it elsewhere.
Rather a mute point ...
Improperly sized crates, extremely excited dogs, etc. can bust out of an airport quality crate.
Heck, I had to transport a cat, Krueger was his name, and he bust apart the airport quality carrier in ....10 seconds...he was so stressed out. Didn’t break down the metal door, actually stress fractured the thing to pieces.
Took me 3 days to catch him...
So, my point being ...it happens.
If they are banning animals that eat through electrical wiring, they have to ban hampsters. Personal experience.
Here's your flag
LOL!
Cool!
[hey...waita minute...that’s not like “here’s yer sign”, is it?]
I have a Jolly Roger marina flag that I used to have on the safety whip on my ATV.
I took off the stupid orange pennant and put the Skull & Bones on instead.
Hubby said it was funny to see the pirate flag floating above the ridges as I rode around them, just out of sight.
Pirates of the Appalachians!
Arrrrrrh!
LOL...no, it’s not a “here’s your sign”. I have the Jolly Roger on the front of my Jeep. My neighbors out here in the woods don’t understand it, they think my husband is trying to tell people I’m a lousy driver.....I’m like poison on the road, LOL.
I never said I owned any of the banned breeds on the list. Dog owners, as a rule, are leery of breed bans, and are loathe to support governments or companies who engage in them.
Therefore, it is not a moot point.
Now, now, there is no call to insult a well-bred well-mannered female dog.
:-)
“[I just caught a raft of crap from a I must be right or else pr*ck on the Dobe forum for posting false information. no good deed goes unpunished]”
Odhinn hasn’t asked you for his (her?) address to pay him (her?) a social call yet? :-)
Seriously, sorry to hear that. What did you tell the silly fellow (lady?) at that forum? :-)
In my years in the pet care industry I often find it is the very liberal who are engaged in such tactics. Dog owners/lovers who reach that level, often are in denial of breed characteristics and are loathe to acknowledge them. This owner attitude often leads to do dogs that untrained and unsuited for the environment they are being forced into.
I have a neighbor with 5 pit-bulls. 4 of them are as sweet as can be. All 5 of them are well trained, but that darn 5th one shows indications of being capable of 'going off.' He needs to kept fenced, crated or when company stops by he is confined to "his room." Ticktock goes the clock.
I consulted with the proud new owner of a pit-bull a year ago. She was all proud of herself because it was a rescue. I was warned before the consult that the dog hated men and that the dog would meet me outside the house first. Fine, we'll see how this goes. Once inside the house the dog did nothing but growl, circle me, and stalk. Owner said they were working with an 'aggressive dog trainer,' but things were not improving. They were getting worse. I refused the work as I know the trainer and if he can't reach that dog...there is not much hope for the dog. In this case I blame the 'rescue' for a poor evaluation.
On another consult a woman had 3 pit-bulls. All of them were wiggly butt happy with me as long as the owner was in the room. As she showed me the 'routine' to let the dogs out it became clear to me the risk was not worth the work.
For a real long time I used to be like you and the other breed ban leery folks, but after a number of experiences in dealing with the types of dogs and their owners I no longer accept their business and refuse to require my employees to be put into those situations.
I cheer for the rescue that saved almost all the Vic Dogs, but a good portion of those said same dogs went to sanctuary too. Never to be adopted. The rescue acted in a reasonable and responsible manner.
When I turn away a breed I have my reasons. All of them based on my experience with the owners and dogs. The banner cry in the industry is, "It's the owner, it's the owner, it's the owner's fault." And to an extent that is correct, but if a breed takes a special type of owner, it is the breed too.
Just got attacked by XXXXXXX. Thankfully the door being slammed in his face stopped him from doing major damage. I am a bit shaken up.... No business owner ever wants to get that kind of message from an employee or in my case the owner. XXXXXX who has been worked with for over a year, went to the Bridge yesterday.
To ask for and expect strangers like airline folks to be those 'specially skilled/trained handlers,' of known breeds is an unreasonable expectation. And for me that does indeed make it both a mute and moot point.
Bwahahahahaaaa!
;D
