I would never buy the meat with garnish or especially anything marinated but the “Manager’s Special” meat is fine. I ran a packing house for years so I do know my meat.

There are meats in the shrink wrap packages on sale with markdown stickers galore that are what I'd call questionable meat - sometimes an almost sickly brown. There are also high quality meats for sale in the same store that are vacuum packed and sealed that have a more purple color - not brown, and they last longer and taste great..... You ran a packing house for years - okay...great. For 40 or more years, I've bought meat that's been frozen for months on end for a boat trip, dried, cured, black marketed, vacuum packed and dressed out with all manner of disguise. Your experience doesn't change my opinion - being on the producing side versus purchasing are two different sides of the coin....nasty looking brown meat is just that - nasty.
