WINFIELD - W. Va.
Ashlee Liebert of Whitmore Lake, Michigan and the 12-year-old girl were found in a parked car in a remote part of Cross Creek Road near Buffalo.
Putnam County Sheriff Mark Smith says it's actually a stroke of luck the two were found. While deputies were taking a missing person report on the young girl, there was a report of a suspicious car on Cross Creek Road in Buffalo. According to the criminal complaint, inside the car deputies found Liebert naked with the 12-year-old girl. The two had sex.
"They were going back to Detroit, and had he not stopped over there and if we would have found this young lady it would have been quite some time," said Sheriff Smith.
The 5-month long relationship started with the online game "World of Warcraft."
"You go in and you create your own person that looks almost like you. You become friends with different people that you don't know and you team up and fight against other people," said a 13-year old Putnam County teen who did not want to be identified.
Experts said youngsters hide behind the internet with games and chat rooms which sets up the perfect opportunity for an online predator to strike. Angie Sullivan, a psychologist with Putnam County Schools said it's easy for predators to get inside the head of youngsters.
"Predators tend to prime these kids and stay with them for a while. They play the games with them and get more and more personable as they go so the student or the child gets more trusting," said Sullivan.
Sullivan said the solution for parents is know what your children are doing online.

Where is chris hanson when you need him?
...fundamentally transformed...
Remove “all” his maleness and teach him how to pee sitting down.
Chris Hansen is probably out with a mistress at the moment.
Better question, where are her parents??
More third world values in America
The Google image appears to be of a white male. When did people start naming their boys Ashlee?
A bullet to the brain would be too good for him.
Ashlee Wilkes from Twelve Oaks Plantation?
While I have a great niece/ward (currently a 13 y/o pain in the Ash) :) whose name is Ashlee, it's also a common British male name. Although the spelling for a boy is usually Ashley, which can be the spelling for a girl as well.

True, but a .45 or .44 to the groin area would be about right.

Her parents were at the police station filing a missing person report. The 12 year old did not run from her own house, she left a friends house. Her mother, whom I know personally, did nothing but hawk over her computer and watch. How was she supposed to know that a friend named Ashlee Courtney was a deviant pedophile. I blame his parents for making it so easy for his warped ass to hide in plain sight. NEVER comment on what a parent does until you get ALL the facts.
There was just a news item about this type of thing in Seattle (just in general). Showed a dad playing the game with his kids, and wearing headsets to talk/listen with the other players. They said the average age for the war game stuff is 32 or something!
In the news thing, the dad said the kids can only play when he is around, and if he isn’t playing the sound goes on the speakers.
Still - hard to watch kids all the time, and over at friend’s with less rules, etc.
The only thing my kids have is facebook - and mom has their passwords, etc. and looks on once in awhile. Oh - and the computer she and the kids use is in the living room. They do have laptops for school-work that has pandora music on them. (They are sooooooo deprived!)
And they still find ways to get in trouble.
Exactly! My 13 year old, (who is very good friends with the 12 year old in question) has a GPS on her phone & iPod, her computer is networked to my computer so I can log in and see exactly what she’s doing from a diffrent room when she is totally unaware. She STILL finds a way around it. And once the school had to call me and the damn principal says,”we’ll didn’t you know she and her friends were doing this?”. It’s like, “uh...no. If I did I woulda stopped it. And if you dig a little closer into the situation, none of this happened at MY house. But I’ll be glad to smack her around and deprive her of food and lock her in the house, all of which will cause you to call OCY on me and have her taken away.”
