Tiger Woods just withdrew from the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral in Miami. He was taken by golf cart to his car in the parking lot after going to 3 over par on his 4th round. Woods appeared to favor his left leg after a poor iron shot on the 10th hole.
Press was told by Woods caddie that it was his left leg that was hurting and caused him to withdraw.
Woods had dropped 19 spots down the leader board on a day when the leaders were also having difficulties....except for Rory McIlroy who is putting on a charge with a recent eagle from the front bunker on the 12th hole.

Bubba Watson has hit just two fairways through 11 holes. McIlroy now one shot out of the lead

So much for all of that “Tiger is Back!” talk.

Watson was leading by two strokes after 3rounds and has now dropped to 4th place at 3over par. McIlroy was 8 shots back to begin the day and is now one shot off the lead.

I’ve been watching all day. Tiger suddenly hurt his knee (cough cough) after missing his 10th straight fairway.
This is nothing more than an excuse.

I had the same thought. But it also looked like he scrapped his new golf swing and went back to the former swing that put more stress on his left leg. Thus his record performance in last week's 4th round.
Looks as though Cadillacs and short irons don't mix well together for Tiger.

I’m guessing if he were -15 he’d play through the injury.
He drove himself home. Which seemed odd.
Tiger or not. It’s going to be a great finish.

not that I'm complaining!

Yeah, let’s really hear it for NBC Sports, who spent a good 10 minutes tracking Tiger driving down the road (reminded me of the O.J. Simpson Bronco chase). With such drama, who wants to watch 6 guys all within a stroke of the lead playing top-notch golf in the final round of a semi-major?

Bubba, McIlory and Keegan Bradley are today’s top stars. Woods, while a legend, is no longer in the conversation.
IMO.

It's going to be very similar watching his actions, from 11/6/12 to 01/20/13 - when he's a one-term lameduck.
A man with that ego, who was dissed by America, will be fun to watch. Hopefully the CIA keeps a close eye on him.

I had the same thought about the OJ chase. But while he was playing they didn’ t show much of him it seemed.

Ive been watching all day. Tiger suddenly hurt his knee (cough cough) after missing his 10th straight fairway.I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt.. Maybe Tiger was missing the fairways because of his knee....
I'm just barely an avg player and hurt my neck a few years back...I had to stop playing mostly because...it was no longer fun not knowing if this particular swing was going to re-injury my neck and leave me in pain for months
As you know the golf swing is a multi-faceted mechanical thing....one thing off and you basically suck...I pretty much sucked when everything was working right... LOL

Fair enough. I guess I'm just cynical by nature. I've seen him limp along and win tourneys. And on the day he's struggling badly, he bails.
