How people feel about illegal immigration is often conveyed by the word they choose to refer to people who cross the border illegally.
To some, they are undocumented workers. Others call them illegal immigrants. Some call them by more pejorative terms, such as "illegals" or "illegal aliens."
Beyond policy disagreements, the semantics of immigration --and specifically the word used in describing the millions of foreigners who have overstayed their visas or have entered the country illegally-- has become one of the most sensitive and inflammatory aspects of the immigration debate.

I’m offended that America tolerates this invasion from Mexico.
If they’re here illegally, no matter WHAT country they’re from, boot them out!
“Illegal immigrant” since they never planned to immigrate here and become legal citizens but only work and send the money back home to Mexico.
The proper term is,
“Illegal alien.”
Legal Hispanics support a strong border and tough enforcement.
My wife is Hispanic, she is fourth generation American of LEGAL Mexican immigrants, and ALL of her family HATES the term “illegal immigrants!”
As they say, these illegals are not “immigrants,” they are “wetbacks” or “illegal aliens!”
Exactly when did calling a spade a spade become such a loathsome act? More importantly, up until Obama was elected President, 75% of her family were Democrats.
Now, 90% are voting for ANYONE BUT OBAMA! I think many political pundits are REALLY under estimating the counter-productive nature of Obama’s Presidency! People are awake and seeing for themselves the destructive practices of his Administration! I think many of the “typical Democrat voters” will be pulling the lever for a Republican - wait and see. Why do you think that Obama had to start an obviously RACIST group like African-Americans for Obama? He knows his numbers are BAD!
“Wetback” is derogatory term used in the United States of America for a person of foreign nationality, historically a Mexican citizen, who is an illegal immigrant in the USA.[1] With the rise in both volume and variety of illegal aliens since the amnesties granted by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 and subsequent legislation.
Yep. Label 'illegals' and 'illegal aliens' as pejorative terms and pretty soon we'll all be hearing those terms referred to as 'the I word' or 'the A word' and the enlightened masses will be self righteously shocked when they hear these words uttered in public.
And soon to be followed by criminal charges.

Well Fox, "fair and balanced" where is the Fox News Caucasian?
Well?
.
I call them invaders.
if it were hispanics who are legal citizens complaining of being mistaken for illegal aliens, they have my sincere apology
if it were hispanics who are in reality illegal aliens complaining of being called illegal aliens, point them south and speed them on their way with a 13EEE Redwing in the kiester
If “illegals” offends our precious “hispanics”, we can always revert to “wetbacks”.
When did I use the word, “wetback” in my replies to the article?
A couple of years ago a U.S. Forest Service spokesclown in CA had this classic term in their press release about an illegal alien arrested guarding a grow operation:
DISPLACED FOREIGN TRAVELER
Remember when drunks and drug addicts morphed into substance abusers? Bums are now 'homeless,' etc?
“What are illegal immigrants called in Mexico?”
Deported.
“I am so damn sick of people pandering and kissing the asses of Mexicans/illegal aliens.”
Our politicians leave their lipstick all over illegals’ asses.
How about ‘felonious foreign parasitic invaders’

I find them offensive too! We have common ground.
Aren’t almost half of Latino voters Illegal?
So this poll make sense.
