You mean they never executed him for writing that piece?
I agree with you. I can’t stand that song.
He was living in the Bin Laden compound.
‘its a small world...’ has to be one of the worst cloying saccarine, one worldism, POS song ever written.
that being said....some of his other disney efforts were OK.
saw the sherman bros at the elcapitan a few years ago what fun that was.
nope
IMHO, there's a special place in hell reserved for the person who wrote the tune for Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade.
It took me 3 weeks to get that song out of my head.
I'll never forget my first week back after vacation. Back then, I was the anchor man on my bowling team. It was the 10th frame, and I needed a double for the win. I'm set and ready to deliver, then WHAM! That damn song invades my head.
I shook the cobwebs out, but everybody thought it was hilarious. They were all dads too, so they understood my situation.
I do believe “It’s a small world....” is why I originally quit attending Disneyland in Anaheim, California. That damned tune keeps in the head for days, weeks, sometimes months before it can be shaken off. It’s like SuperLeech on the brain.
I recently watched a TV show about The Sherman Brothers. They wrote many, many songs we grew up with. “Winnie The Pooh”, “Mary Poppins”..etc. They fought with each other as they wrote and rarely visited each other outside the studio.
“Bobby Sherman”...... ;)
Interesting....sounds like Gilbert and Sullivan, who couldn’t stand one another and rarely met.
Great, now it won’t stop.
When I was a lad I served a term
As office boy to an Attorney’s firm.
I cleaned the windows and I swept the floor,
And I polished up the handle of the big front door.
I polished up that handle so carefullee
That now I am the Ruler of the Queen’s Navee!
Embrace the pain!
A paradox?
A paradox,
A most ingenious paradox!
Weve quips and quibbles heard in flocks,
But none to beat this paradox!
After visiting Disney World with my young daughter 30 years ago that song still drives me nuts.
