What if you didn’t have an account, just used their search engine?

Usually I add www.scroogle.org as a good non google search site, but, google or someone got them.

“A week ago, we reported that Scroogle was being blocked by Google and searches on the privacy search engine were no longer working. Since then, the site continued not to work and now it is completely offline.”

For example if one person searches for pictures of scantily clad women, the next family member to use the internet may find themselves being recommended a bikini contest on YouTube.

Uh-oh... No telling what my son's going to see following that ill advised "Aunt Fritzi Nude" image search.

It says sign into your Google account. I used Google in years past to search, but nothing else. So how do I have a Google account if I have no memory of ever having an account?

Deleting search history is easy. I do it all the time, even though I have it (supposedly) set up up to not record my searches. What I'd like to know is how to delete the data stored in the drop-down box when you start typing in a search. It's gotta be stored in a file somewhere on my PC, but I can't find it. I tried using different search engines to find out how to do this, but no one seems to know.

I “opted out” of Google long ago. I use the Ixquick search engine which at least claims to keep or disseminate no info at all about users.

If you don’t sign in, Google will track your searches via the computer’s IP address. The only way to clear your personal history is by signing in.

Wonder how they do that when your IP changes every time you log on. Good luck goo gle. Seriously, it’s not rocket science to circumvent goo gle.

I see that Ixquick and Startpage have already been mentioned. They’re tight on privacy, no doubt, but I prefer DuckDuckGo’s interface. It’s based out of the great state of Pennsylvania and has a similar focus on privacy. It gets search results from Bing.

To save Google the trouble, I just email them whenever I am about to do something. For example, I emailed them earlier today that I was having a sausage and egg sandwich for lunch. They didn’t respond but I know that they filed the information away for future reference.

A total waste of time.

Just don't use Google. You won't miss it.
