Tommy’s has been serving customers for decades and is famous for its full-bodied chili, which is neither spicy nor can it be called bland. Indeed everything on the menu can appease any chili lover’s appetite. They serve chili dogs on Nathan’s Famous all beef hot dogs and warm buns baked fresh everyday from a local bakery. Their chili cheese fries are hand chopped right in the restaurant and their chili burgers are made from Grade A USDA beef. The most popular order (and my personal favorite) is a chili dog with onions and mustard, which will run you about $3.50 and is worth every penny. Tommy’s Famous Drive-In serves customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so stop by and enter chili heaven on your way to your next L.A. destination.

I ate at a joint that was referred to as “Ptomaine Tommy’s”. Probably not the same place though.

And this is why too many folks in the U.S. are so gawd dang fat/obese.

This is not funny. It is an ugly tragedy.

But, of course!

I had to settle for the outpost in Arcadia as I lived in that area...but it was fab.

My fav was not the burger, but the heaping pile of french fries covered in that greasy chile, with the oil pooling on the sides...covered with orange cheese and...was it white onions? Oh, my...I used to get a pile and eat them in the parking lot while they were still hot. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I don’t eat meat anymore...but those chile cheese fries might possibly get me off the wagon! Thx for the memories.

If you haven’t eaten at the Tommy’s on Beverly and Rampart, then you really haven’t truly eaten at Tommy’s!

Once I was in Summerville or Dorchester (one or the other) and there is this little Irish bakery called Greenhill Irish Bakery. I've never tasted such awesome bread in my life. Here's a picture of their "breakfast sandwich." It may not look very polished, but man, the taste...

I have many times. Good burgers. World famous Pastrami sandwiches in L.A. area is “The Hat”. Very good and they too have chili burgers.

Yes, but I don’t like their chili and the burgers are ordinary. I prefer In-Out or the roach coach by the name of GrillemAll a heavy metal burger truck with some of the best burgers in town. They won the first Food TV Great Food Truck Race. I chase them down when I want a good burger. I’m a little crazy so I get the Dee Snider or the Blue Cheer. I usually get an order of Pom Frittes with Truffle oil as well but the BH-100’s are good too.
