Best In Show
Gee Thought those were freepers involved with the Dogs against Romney!
Actually, I had two Great Danes. One was 125 lb. and the other was 150 lb. There are some big Labs here in the country, but your guy sounds like a giant! Does he have an especially deep chest and narrow waist, or is he shaped more like a Lab?
I agree, bad call. Shoulda been the Dobie.
But the judge’s outfit looked like it was designed and made by the local high school Home Ec. class.
Of course!
I wouldn’t own a Peke like that, but for his breed, he was beautiful.
(I have a Peke mix, but he looks like a blond Tibetan spaniel with a smooshed face)
You wouldn't be either, if you made the kind of money they do.
Color/markings are often completely separate genes, not “blended”.
Either way, Great Danes can be black.
She screwed up the best in show. The Doberman should have won that.
Have never owned a little dog as we’ve always had enough room for the larger breeds. But if I were ever in an apartment or lived in the city I’d reconsider.....Peekapoos are cute. There is a breeder in the area and a few people have them.
We have three...they don’t shed at much as one would believe. However, because it normally gets so hot here in the summer, we give them a “puppy cut” at the beginning of summer. They grow it out completely by winter.
I didn't know that. Thanks.
Anyway, it was a good show.
We have one here in Harrisburg/Hershey once a year.
I have not been to one but I see the people in the restaurants and they are very serious.
Cars from all over the country with dogs.
Really? What are your qualifications to make that statement? It sure is not based on any knowledge of the Pekingese breed. I have bred many champion Pekingese. I handle and show them for a living. I have numerous Group 1 wins, Best in Show and numerous Best in Specialy Pekingese wins. That little dog was the 2nd top winning dog in the entire country ALL BREEDS not just his breed. He’s an outstanding representive of his breed. He won 116 Best in Shows this past year. So you think you know more than 116 judges who are trained to recognize quality in dogs as to opposed to you whom I am willing to bet never bred a champion dog of any breed in your life. Because you like a Doberman better than a Pekingese doesn’t mean the judge screw up it simply means you don’t have the knowledge to know the quality of that little Peke. I do and he is outstanding. He deserved that win. Stick to politics. You know nothing of dog shows.

We breed and show and my wife has since the early 70s and was also a judge. We own a son of the Best in Show Lab at WM.
>> whom I am willing to bet never bred a champion dog of any breed in your life.<<
You loose. We have owned many that have won best in show. We have bread and shown 6 different breeds. There was really no need to get all snooty. Really.<
>> You know nothing of dog shows or Pekingese.<<
You sure got snitty quick. Your assumptions indicate a lack of character and your snooty reply indicates a lack of personality. Check your snooty, catty attitude at the door and go suck an egg.
By the way. That Pekingese was about as rough moving as any Ive seen. The one that won a few years ago was smooth and deserved to win.
1991 was the last time the Honor of Best in Show went to a Pekinese that is very cool.
Or the old way of spelling Pekingese from China.
I don’t know.
As the judge made her rounds with the dogs she took a little extra time feeling the Peke poking and feeling the mid back. Did you see that? Why did the judge spend extra time with it?
The only reason I bring this up is I suspect the judge has already determined the top dos she /he will even consider for a champion.
Yeah...even though my GSD’s are attacking me as I type this... I WAS rooting for the Dobe, too.
My opinion??? She flat out didn’t like the GSD...
