An Italian prosecutor wants to put Amanda Knox back in prison, saying today that he is "very convinced" that she killed her roommate Meredith Kercher.
Prosecutor Giovanni Galati filed a 112-page appeal today seeking to throw out a court ruling that found Knox innocent of her roommate's murder and set her free after four years in an Italian prison.

Both she and her parents are being tried for slander becuase they claimed to the press that she was beaten during an interrogation. Amanda is also being tried for slander because she accused her boss of committing the murder during said interrogation. IIRC it was lengthy and she had no council present.
The real irony here is that during her trial, lots of stories were leaked to the press about her strange behavior while in custody, her alleged prosmiscuity, and her mental health. One doesn’t have to think very hard to figure out where those leaks came from and yet she is the one being tried for slander.
Sorry, but for a prosecutor to just relentlessly appeal a not-guilty verdict is simply absurd. Give them enough bites at the apple and they can convict anyone they want to eventually. In watching parts of that trial I was appalled at what I saw of the Italian judicial system. Sure, we've got problems here too... but I saw nothing that impressed me that their system is interested in due process at all. Quite the opposite. I wouldn't expect perfection anywhere but I sure expected better.
That's good. They couldn't be foolish enough to go back, I hope...
It’s a mystery but if the prosecutor is convinced he should appeal it
Bizarre. The entire family should stay in the good old US of A for the rest of their lives.
From what I have heard the Italian legal system is vastly different than in the US. Read the book “Monster of Florence” for a start.
Yeah, if that knife-weilding scumbag OJ can get away with murder, then that cartwheeling scumbag Amanda Knox can get away with murder, too.
So there, Italy.
Nice explanation (roll eyes). Well if you had stopped you trigger finger you would find out that America does not extradite Americans. Of course you just had to be a know it all but failed horribly.
Don't be so harshly judgemental. Why, when I was in college I turned cartwheels every time a bloody dead room-mate was found in my flat.
In re "The Monster of Florence," the legal systems of countries that don't operate by the precepts of Anglo-Saxon Law ... are well .... different from us. However, the Italians also seem to offer many of the guarantees we do to those arrested. It was a violation of those guarantees that ...eventually ... got young Amanda sprung.
That prosecutor sure was nutty with his satanic theories ... and like a Amanda ... he has fans ... and detractors in high places. But, we have nutty prosecutors here too ... like that SOB Mason in Cleveland who has had Mr. Koslovsky in jail for over a year for shooting an intruder that was trying to beat him and his tenant to death.
Autre pays, autre merde
Don’t know where you got you information, but it’s wrong. For example:

The prosecution needs to be send to prison.
No extradition treaty is unconditional.
