I never heard that before. :( It wouldn’t surprise me if that did happen. Irish Setters are known for that and to be honest, that is one breed I would never own. They are a little whacky. Hopefully if it is true, he found a loving home with some Canadian family.
That’s why it’s better to have more than one dog. Even then, mine still act like they haven’t seen me for a year whether I am gone all day or for 1 hour.
Not defending here, but sometimes dogs poop in crates, even at dog shows. I can assure you that at Westminster yesterday and today, some dogs pooped in their crates and these are the best of the best and pampered show dogs. It happens. It doesn’t always mean they are afraid, sometimes it’s nerves, sometimes they just get excited and sometimes they just have to go. One of mine did it in the crate that was inside the car on the way to the vet. She wasn’t afraid or particularly excited, she just needed to go, so that part, to me, really isn’t that relevant. I would have been terrified the crate would fall off the car and that my dogs would have been afraid of the speed and being alone.
A press release announcing the Dogs Against Romney protest promised a pack of passionate canines and humans, however, when we arrived at Madison Square Garden shortly before the demonstrations appointed noon start time, there were only two protesters carrying signs reading Mitt is Mean and Dogs Against Romney. Nary a dog was in sight, but the media was out in force. We spotted more reporters than we could count including representatives from the Huffington Post, Gothamist, Daily News, CNNs off-beat correspondent Jeanne Moos and, of course, the Observer.
Thanks Cincinna.
Please count me in! We ride inside! BOL!
“About a dozen people stood”
This makes news - and a whole article. They’d be dwarfed by just the people in the ring during BIS.
I totally agree. BO is a photo-op dig, jetted around on AF2 at taxpayer expense for photo-ops with Barry & co.
Ditto for poor Buddy Clinton, who was offer when he was no longer politically useful.
“burrows and caves are natural for the whole dog family.”
Actually, IIRC, that’s not true. Wolves (I assume everyone really means) don’t use caves, except at whelping time. Basically they’re in caves as babies, and as whelping/lactating mothers.
Turns out the whole crate thing is a sham. Not that crates don’t work, but the rationalization (as opposed to rationale, eh?) is faulty.
I DESPISE the Westminister Dog Show. Those dogs owners make Mitt look like THE best dog owner ever. I used to work X the street from Madison Square Garden. The boxing fans were better and classier, and more civil, than those dog owners.
Once, during the dog show, I happened into the former Gimbels Dept Store. They had a mannequin in couture, with a VERY expensive dress. It had to be changed because one of the dog owners let its little charge pee on the dress! Ask any sales clerk from any store in the vicinity of Madison Square Garden how much they just looooooooooove the dog show. The animals are on the wrong end of the leash.
PEKINGESE WINS BEST IN SHOW @ WESTMINSTER DOG SHOW
Reread our posts wee one.
You would need help from your whole family to barely elevate yourself to nitwit status and then you would have risen higher than anyone who has ever met you would have considered possible.
Now buck up ‘lil feller and dry those tears, you have school tomorrow.
Second post was as dumb as the first.
I agree that both of your posts were dumb.
Feel better now that I have agreed with you?
Hell, in your world this is probably considered a win!
LOL!
ROMNEY HAS A VACATION HOME IN CANADA? HOW MANY HOMES DOES MITT HAVE? MORE THAN JOHN KERRY? (5)
”A small group of protesters and a pair of pups inspired a media frenzy in front of the Westminster Kennel Club dog show at Madison Square Garden today. The demonstrators were assisted by the liberal political consultancy Americans United for Change under the umbrella of the group, Dogs Against Romney, which was created after the Boston Globe published a 2007 profile of the perennial Republican presidential candidate revealing he put his Irish Setter, Seamus, on the roof of the family station wagon for a twelve hour road trip from Boston to his vacation home in Canada.”
And the RomneyDoggie (I’m pretty sure - some say maybe OWS) people have tried to get to the BIS ring, but were knocked out - complete with “eeek” squeal from the 1 woman. They made it down to the front and looked about to come over the rail at the judge (start/intro of BIS ring).
Damned fools.
The difference is that horses in trailer and dogs in dog boxes are not *on top* of the vehicle which transports them. They are secured *within* the vehicle.
It is a conservative position to be against mistreatment of animals, knowing that God will hold those who abuse His Creation to account, not a liberal one.
God *gave* us dogs. They belong to Him, and are on loan to us for the duration of their lives on Earth. If we don’t treat them right, we answer to Him.
LOLOLOL!
“I Ride Inside”
I absolutely LOVE dog people. ;o)
Thank you so much for the ping. I had heard this would happen, and am SO glad that they pulled it off.
