ITV Studios America and HDFILMS announced plans for a reimagining of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's famed franchise of the 1970s, then called Space: 1999. The news comes months after Fox and producer Seth MacFarlane announced they would be reviving Cosmos: A Space Time Odyssey, a 1980s miniseries from Carl Sagan. "Science fiction is a powerful format capable of visualizing the human condition in thought-provoking ways," said HDFilms president Jace Hall, who will spearhead the effort and serve as an executive producer. The project is in the development phase and has yet to be shopped to networks.

I hope they don’t make it an eco-BS story.

Oh, goodie!

Then at least hopefully the US will have a manned space program again...

At least a make-believe one on TV...

Leave Quark alone. I wished for more episodes though.

I loved 99 as a kid. It is hard to watch now sometimes. I bought a scale model die cast eagle a long while back.

As a kid, I had the big Eagle and a few of the people Long lost/probably destroyed by other yutes my mom watched while I was in the service for a few years. A lot of my 80s GI Joes were broken, missing parts, and damaged.

I know what you mean, even Dragon's Domain no longer scares me. I blame the years of Nancy Pelosi and Helen Thomas pictures posted here on FR.

Domain and Testament Of Arkadia were the best two episodes to me.

Martin Landau spoke about 1999 and MI when he was Dragoncon this last time. It was a great pleasure to meet and speak to him for a minute. Here is me and my wife at his table.

I never thought I would ever get to meet any Gerry Anderson people, let alone Koenig himself.
