Psychology and psychiatry could be defined as neurosis. Seriously.

Yep, it's always the shy, quiet types!

Like John Hinkley Jr. had to shoot Reagan so Twinkle Toes would like him!

"Back in 1840, the census of the United States included just one category for mental disorder. By 1917, the American Psychiatric Association recognized 59, rising to 128 in 1959, 227 in 1980, and 347 in the last revision. Do we really need all these labels?"

You do if you want to make money, baby! It's all about billable disorders...Ka-ching! Better than printing your own money.

I can’t wait to see the side effects of the new drugs that the FDA will approve to treat this “disorder.”

Well, I’ve always been shy, and I will say that I think that trait has held me back from accomplishing everything I think I could have accomplished in my life. It’s difficult to work with people, especially when I need to contact someone I’ve never met before.

However, I’m not sure this qualifies as a mental illness. Maybe this new classification of shyness was the brainchild of some extrovert who delights in putting shy people on the spot. Too many extroverts just can’t tolerate seeing shy people being shy, and think they have some sort of mission to “bring us out”—when we’re perfectly happy to just sit there and listen.

Psychology is the science of creating names for things that don’t exist.

It kinda looks like they’re trying to put forth the notion that shyness = conservative and that it would be an undesirable personality trait. Polite society is not and need not be “LOUD AND PROUD”. I reject their reality and substitute my own.

But homosexuality (certainly a non-scientific endeavor) continues to be treated as completely normal.

What is eccentric anyway? How do you classify a country full of independent individuals doing their own thing. This is just a ruse to try and drug everyone.

Shy people probably do not talk much because they have nothing to say to the kinds of idiots writing this drivel.

Grieving is a normal human emotion and is even healthy for someone accepting the loss of a loved one.

This is a case of lunatics running the asylum.

Psychiatry is not a true science in that it is impossible to PROVE and REPEAT their conclusions with any reasonable level of certainty. We should not put a lot of stock in their witchcraft.

For every real mental disorder Psychiatry will make up 10 others if for no other reason than to rack up billable hours and to make sure nobody has to take responsibility for their own actions. 90% of their OPINIONs are nothing more than that; unscientific OPINIONs, which cannot be proved and or repeated by independent means. They rely on the 10% of real problems which can be proved to bilk the public out of millions.

If you need another reason to distrust Psychiatry, just ask yourself why the communists wanted it to achieve a high level of importance in the USA. It was included in their manifesto to aid in our destruction.

Shyness is a symptom of a mental disorder, not a mental disorder in itself.

Shyness = mental illness, but grown men sexually desiring other men = perfectly normal. Suuuuuure.

Most people consider me shy. I’m certainly quiet. Of course, I seem normal to me.

Despite this “disorder,” over the years I have run for school committee in hostile, moonbat territory, started my own 501 c(3), and served on the board of a crisis pregnancy center, in addition to working a full-time job and opening my own rapidly-growing business.

So shyness hasn’t been a great handicap.

FWIW, Thomas Aquinas’ peers in the seminary called him the “dumb ox,” because he was a big man who spoke little. And he turned out OK.

How about procrastination? I’ve been wanting to propose that as a mental defect, but I keep putting it off!

” common behavioral traits are likely to be listed as a mental illness, it was reported.”

Demonize morality while normalizing homosexuality. OK, got it....
