Joining other ultra-liberals like Tosh.Os star Daniel Tosh, is the Huffington Posts Gavin Schulman. Apparently, making light of abortion and viewing it as comedy is now the cool thing to do. This morning, I was appalled to find an article defending abortion on Huff Posts comedy page. Cause yeah, people, abortion really is comedy central.
Mr. Schulmans favorite line in his oh-so-funny article appears to be who cares? Who cares about abortion? Its not a big deal. I mean, come on, Americans stop giving a rip about anyone elses baby besides your own! Those babies who are starving to death in Africa stop caring! Those babies who are being killed in India just because theyre girls stop caring! Those babies who are being aborted in the U.S. and around the world stop caring!
Mr. Schulman demonstrates his abhorrent lack of care for basic human decency with this toxic paragraph:
Plus, theyre just babies. Its not like they can do anything. They cant even walk. They just sit there and gurgle. What good does that do anyone? And even worse, theyre other peoples babies. Isnt that the most obnoxious kind? Who actually cares about someone elses baby? Thats not Christian, its creepy. Thats not protective, its perverse. Thats not righteous, its wrong. And weird. No one should take that keen an interest in someone elses baby. You should bop them on the nose, take a picture, and go about your day.
Whether its written as comedy or as a true belief, it is NOT FUNNY in the absolute least to say that people who cannot walk dont do anyone else any good. My husbands best friend has a little boy who cant walk. I know for a fact that he does this world a WHOLE LOT of good.
Pro-abortionists need to stop thinking that the statements they make can be isolated only to unborn babies. Science has clearly proven that human life begins at the moment of fertilization. Therefore, these people should be willing to have the statements they make applied across humanity.
If their reasoning behind devaluing unborn babies is that they cant walk, then voila, any human who is unable to walk has no value. You cant pick and choose which humans your standards apply to. They either apply across the board or they dont apply at all.
Whats appalling to me is that this is not an isolated view, relegated just to supposedly comedic articles. I personally debated an avidly pro-choice expert on TV. She specifically stated that one should not be considered a person unless they could walk, talk, and breathe. And trust me, she was not joking.
Gavin Schulman also illustrates his lack of scientific education when he writes:
Im not here to defend abortion. In fact, Im not here. Im just a narrative voice. But I will use that voice to reiterate one point about abortion who cares? Its not your baby. And, really, its not even a baby. But just as I can feed my baby go-go juice and have her dance in a diaper to win a crown, you can opt to not have a baby that could someday shill for stock-trading software. Yes, as humans we should care about one another. But lets wait on that caring until were humans.
His standard is that humans should care about one another once were humans. However, there are two problems with his viewpoint. First, he spends a large portion of his article detailing in a humorous manner how he doesnt care about your baby one bit, and hes clearly talking about babies who are indeed already born. So, Mr. Schulman actually doesnt care about humans even though he claims otherwise.
Secondly, if he would care to pick up any embryology textbook, he would find that, from the moment of fertilization, a new HUMAN life has begun. At least the people who debate about whether or not the unborn are persons have some philosophical viewpoint to stand on (however ridiculous). But to state that unborn babies arent even human?
Im sorry, but that causes me to ask what planet Mr. Schulman was on when he went to school. He must have been sleeping during his biology classes. Because, you know, who cares about the facts anyway?
When Steve Jobs died I saw something on TV about his mother being a “unwed mother”. That is what they were called back in the day, not “single mother”. Abortion was not legal at the time but it didn’t stop a lot of women from getting them. Just think what the world would have missed if Steve Jobs had been aborted.
I’ve spent a lot of dough on the stuff Jobs created. Thanking his mom for keeping him.
You notice how the left changes the language too? Not just in abortion and the baby being a “blob of cells”
unwed mother to “single mother”. Then again a bastard is still a bastard no matter how the left tries to white wash it.
Curious as to whether the dollar or mother earth is her god....
The dollar.
Let me take a wild guess how this writer feels about gay adoptions... heh
I’ve experienced first-hand what it’s like to live with a person who talks and thinks this way. If this is now mainstream, then we’re in for a very ugly time in the not too distant future. Present day bullying, entertainment killings, and YouTube beatings will seem tame compared to the horrors that will be commonplace.
it wasn’t just Steve Jobs. Both President Clinton and President Obama’s mothers got pregnant out of wedlock. In both cases, they got “married “ so they could keep their baby.
Both didn’t abort even though abortion was easy to obtain illegally in those days.
I've been waiting for human sacrifice to make a comeback. All the elements are there. To be fair, I thought we were real close back in the 80's when there was some sort of toney party in SF with the Niners owners in attendance, I think, which had some sadism based entertainment which cut flesh and drew blood. Haven't really seen that line develop, though. But stay tuned.
“No one should take that keen an interest in someone elses baby.”
Wish they’d stick to that thought when it comes to all the nanny-state and “educational” garbage they enact “for the children”.
This guy sounds like he is trying to copy Maddox. Except he’s not funny and Maddox is hilarious.
It does not matter to the pro abortionist what logic you use to condemn abortion. They do not operate from logic. They are irrational and use power and coercion to get their way. They are inhuman thugs who operate on amoral thinking. And they will take your freedom away from you to get their way.
Also, the guillotine comes to mind . . .
They believe in “choice”, just not “informed” choice. Can't let the ignorant Mother to be know what's really going on.
Ignorance is the tool of those with evil intentions.
“Caring About Someone Elses Baby Isnt Christian But Creepy”
But I thought “it takes a village”. What happened to this lib?
Abortion is human sacrifice—to the god of “covenience”.
Someone else's baby is - someone - else!
if he’s pro-killing innocents, why not be pro-killing idiots like him?
Hey!! That’s been my tagline fo years!! Thanks for using it!!
