I have an old photo of men I've been told were some Red Sox baseball players who were dining at a restaurant back in the late 1960's. There are 3 of them in the picture. It was likely 1968 to maybe as late as 1970. It was probably during Spring training because it was taken in central Florida. Does anyone here know how I can track down living members of the team to see if any of them can identify them? I have been told they may be Carl Yastrzemski, Jim Lonborg, and Tony Conigliaro, but when I look at photos on the web, they only sort of look like these gentlemen. I think perhaps it could be because they are relaxed and all cleaned up, and not in the heat of a baseball game. Any ideas on how to find out from someone who would really knew what these men looked like back then?
He’s still dead, right?
I’m heading to bed, but thanks for everyone’s advice and insight thus far. I’ll check back in tomorrow morning.
I’ve heard of her.
FR doesn’t host photos in posts, it only links to sites where the photos are hosted. After posting the phote to another site, right click on it in the site hosting it and select properties and copy the address, which is a url. Then go back to this thread and post a reply as
< img src = “COPIED URL HERE”>
Without the space between “<” and “img”, with quotes around the URL. An example of a URL is
The most reliable way to copy the URL is, after selecting properties, click inside the address and hit crtl-a (select all) followed by crtl-c ( copies selection to the paste buffer.) Then when posting, press crtl-v with the insertion point between the quotes, which copies the paste buffer to wherever the insertion point is.
Guy on the left looks more like Jerry Stephensen that Carl Yaz....
Stephenson....
With the invasion of trolls, Mittbots, and general zotworthy nitwits around here recently, I am suspicious of noobs, especially one who claims to have been here before, but now has a new screen name.
If you have been here before, surely you understand this.
As for being a nice person, time will tell.
Sure, I understand, but most of those probably don’t bother to get JimRob’s approval before pursuing a change. Take that for what it’s worth. If I were one of the types that you mentioned, would I have been so forthright on my profile about the change? Most would not, I think.
Yaz is not in that pic.
