I love Veronica Lake in this totally implausible movie. "I'm going to be a hobo so I can learn about suffering!" and the girl says "Oh!..total stranger, count me in!" Yeah, Riiight...! But she is so adorable, you just want to reach through the B&W screen and cuddle her.
