A statement posted on Springsteen’s official website also addressed the issue, saying that ”We know that many of you have been having trouble getting tickets on this morning’s on-sales.” - well, i guess that takes care of that. I'm relieved (rolling eyes)

Screw ‘im. Never liked his music that much, and his Jersey attitude even less

There was probably a presale too, where the good seats were sold.

April, 2008:

Rock star Bruce Springsteen endorsed Democratic Sen. Barack Obama for president Wednesday, saying “he speaks to the America I’ve envisioned in my music for the past 35 years.”

“He has the depth, the reflectiveness, and the resilience to be our next president,” the letter said.

I know I will upset NJ FReepers here by saying this, but Springsteen blows. Other than 10th Avenue Freeze Out, his music sucks.

Stubhub prices for his April 9 gig at New York’s Madison Square Garden currently start at $143 for nosebleed balcony seats and top out at $8,719 for prime spots on the first level

I paid $4.50 to see The Beatles live in 1966, but I sure wouldn't pay over $8,000 to see anyone, I don't care if was the queen of Russia.

Many like to bash Springsteen's music and minimize him as an artist because he is a big-time Lefty (and he is). However, if Bruce Springsteen was a rock-solid conservative who supported Ronald Reagan, we would all be raving about the genius of his music (which is actually quite good).

That said, Springsteen as a person is a sanctimonious a-hole who is a hypocrite of the highest order. He's about as "working class" as Michael Moore and for all his leftist rhetoric, he gouges his fans with some of the highest ticket prices in the music industry.

Still, his body of work stands the test of time. I still get shivers up my spine hearing songs like "4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)", "Atlantic City" and "Tunnel of Love". Can't deny his musical talent. But I'll be damned if I ever attend one of his overpriced shows, where between songs, he'll bash the United States, conservatism and capitalism - without which, he'd be a nobody.

“Scalpers Freeze Out Online Ticket Buyers”

Hey, do you suppose it happened on...10th Avenue?

(yes, I know. That was awful. And not all that funny. But you knew *someone* was going to say it eventually...)

This wouldn’t be a problem if Ticketmaster just charged market prices to begin with. The scalpers are just doing a service that Ticketmaster won’t do - finding the true market price and distributing tickets to those willing to spend the resources on them.

I wouldn't pay $20 to see Springsteen.

Nils Lofgren is a different matter.

With Danny and Clarence now dead, what’s the point?

When the change was made uptown
And the big man joined the band
From the coastline to the city
All the little pretties raise their hands
Im gonna sit back right easy and laugh
When scooter and the big man bust this city in half
With a tenth avenue freeze-out, tenth avenue freeze-out
Tenth avenue freeze-out...

Bob Seger was/is the real Bruce Springsteen. Seger sings better, writes better, and his music has more emotional depth. Springsteen is an east coast leftist wo the fawed over.

Can’t stand the Commie Springsteen and can’t comprehend why people will pay such outrageous sums to see pukes like him.

The ONLY time I’ve enjoyed Springsteen was his performance in the dueling guitars on the Roy Orbison’s “A Black and White Night”, done in the late ‘80s. I watched the video tape of that program so many times! The ladies doing backup were also fantastic, including Bonnie Raitt my favorite (her album/tape “Home Plate” is great).

If the idiots attending the concerts would boycott a few that the scalpers bought out, leaving the scalpers in the bag, it might start to solve the problem. The problem isn’t the scalpers, it’s the folks that are willing to be scalped.

Remember this scumbag cheated on his wife and kids also, TWICE. not to mention he is an avowed communist from way back, He should be held up as a poster boy for Not Becoming a Heroin Junkie for the way it has affected his thought process. Everytime you purchase a ticket or song or anything else from the vast majority of the Entertainment industry, you are DIRECTLY SUPPORTING TERRORISTS AND COMMUNISTS WORLDWIDE.

The use of computers for voting on-line would suffer from the same types of shenanigans. There are people who have nothing to do in life but to sit at a computer (mostly in Mommy and Daddy's basement) to try to break in to computer systems to disrupt (hacking) as a "sport".

You will recall that "Anonymous" is regularly hacking sites to draw attention to favored issues, and dirsrupting highly-protected sites. Where there is computer security, it can ALWAYS be penetrated when outside input is provided, no matter how "secure" it is supposed to be.

I believe that sentences for those caught disrupting lives of thousands, including ALL FORMS OF VOTE FRAUD, should carry minimum penalties of a Felony Conviction, and MANDATORY prison time.

There's no risk in disruption, even of the Electoral process through Fraud, when sentences are regularly bargained down to a couple thousand dollar fines, and/or, "probation".
