Hello all, new to FreeRepublic. I saw this post and had to respond. I’ve always enjoyed drudge especially some of the outrageous crime articles that are posted. I noticed at the beginning of January that Drudge seemed anti-Newt. I started sending in many different articles on Newt that were more or less positive and only saw one ever get posted. Since Newt has re-surged I have noticed the number of negative articles on drudge has increased as well despite his rising popularity. Drudge posted many positive articles on the tea party movement during the summer of 2010. Now despite most tea party support behind Newt DR seems to be doing everything they can to sink his candidacy. The conduct of some during this race has been shocking and alarming. I for one am done with Drudge

"Newt’s momentum has stalled and Mitt has pulled even."

I don't know what polls you are looking at...Mitt was way ahead last week. Here are the current results. Newt is ahead by + 5 if you throw out last weeks CBS (we love the Dems) network poll.

Poll Date Sample MoE Gingrich Romney Santorum Paul Perry Spread

Gallup Tracking 1/20 - 1/24 1205 RV 4.0 31 28 12 12 — Gingrich +3
Rasmussen Reports 1/23 - 1/23 1000 LV 3.0 35 28 16 10 — Gingrich +7
CBS News/NY Times 1/12 - 1/16 340 RV 5.0 21 28 16 15 7 Romney +7

If you had a juicy piece on the GOP frontrunner, who happened to be Speaker of the House at the time, standing on the floor of this nation's Congress and calling President Reagan a failure multiple times, in multiple ways, and you were the owner of the Drudge Report, wouldn't you run it?

I don't see what's so hard to understand here, or why it must be "explained" as a conspiracy or political advocacy.

Truer words were never spoken.

And it's just a waste of time to sit around wailing that people -- anyone, everyone -- are bringing up the boatloads of controversies that float around Newt Gingrich, and always have, like . . . well.

If Drudge doesn't put it on Drudge, it's not like it's going to go away and conservatives are never going to find out about Newt's past, such as calling President Reagan a total failure.

Some people prefer to think there's a conspiracy afoot, rather than thinking about how unforgiveable it is for a Speaker of the House to stand up on the floor of this nation's Congress and talk about President Reagan the same way Harry Reid talked about President Bush.

Gingrich DID make that speech. And anyone who thought it wouldn't be brought up, and won't be brought up again, is dreaming. To what effect, I don't know. But it will surely remind those who were working so hard to further Reagan's agenda of why they loathe Newt Gingrich.

“Why does Drudge seem to have a burr up his butt over Newt?”

Richard Burr is a RINO but that allegation is taking it a bit far...

Ok, no comments needed about Drudge and his butt, but why is he leading the Romney crusade

Drudge went into the tank for Hillary as long ago as Monica. Drudge released the original Monica reports, and was the main source for all that material. Now, does nayone really think she had that kind of access to Bill without Hillary's express permission and planning? That was a wag the dog op, and Drudge was a main player.

Now Drudge pumps up Romney. Well who better for Hillary to run against than guaranteed-to-lose Mr. RINO himself, once Obama can't muster the certification necessary to prove natural born status this time around? And she certainly does not want to have to argue policy with Newt - globalist and executer of marijuana users he is, but he's also got enough policywonk on the ball to easily embarass the hell out of Ms. SoS.

So, Hillary snaps her fingers, points, and Matt's off and running.

RINO isn’t a term just reserved for elected officials....

....and you need to move from Virginia if you constantly get poop stuck to your windows....

I live in Georgia and our poop doesn’t stink or stick... :^)

The "insider" is crazy old Elliot Abrams. He's just never been right since being prosecuted by Independent Counsel Walsh.

Maybe you forgot he had to have a pardon ~ when he worked for Ronaldus Magnus he was convicted 1991 of ~ (HOLD ON, BRING ERIC HOLDER IN HERE) ~ of two misdemeanor counts of unlawfully withholding information from Congress.

"Daddy" Bush pardoned him.

Gingrich's speech wasn't "repeatedly" nor was it "day after day", it was about a specific policy with which Gingrich and others had concerns.

Too many forget that Ronaldus Magnus found himself COMPROMISING Conservative principles in order to get beneficial legislation passed with otherwise DAMAGING Leftwingtard nonsense appended.

You'll never catch Obama compromising.

I'd imagine Drudge and his handlers think they are working up a steaming pile of C for the "Fast and Furious" crowd while at the same time getting in a couple of licks for Mitt.

We are taking it the other way around ~ that it's all about the Newt.

Will somebody who knows the little f.....t give him a call and find out who he thinks his target is?

>>...A picture of Matt Drudge pretty much answers that question...<<

You say, he reads a lot of muscle-magazines?
He likes antiques and French cuisine?
Honey, don’t you know what all that means?
He’s runnin’ low on toast-test-toe-reen!

His favorite part of the super-bowl
Is the locker room interviews
well, just add two-and-two
It’s time, you got a clue

Your man is Gay! As a goose, darlin’
Gay! That’s the truth, Darlin’
I hate to break the news to you this way.
Your man is Gay! As a “donned-apparel”
Gay! Yes, he’s a flaming-arrow.
Head’s up babe — your man is gay...
