There’s a real danger that the Left will try hard to co-opt he “family values” argument that Conservatives own. If Newt is our choice, we’ve got to be ready for this. The Left will employ a double standard and won’t care.
I don’t know why Palin is offering to insert herself into this argument. Voting for Newt is one thing. Being a shield for him is something else.
Then they need to be made to defend the “family values” of FDR, JFK, Clinton, Barney Franks’ gay lover’s prostitution ring run from his own home, etc. They only care about “family values” when they think they can use it as a “gotcha” against the right and this needs to be pointed out repeatedly. In this day and age, this issue is going to be raised repeatedly and only against people on the right unless we make the double standard clear. Not defend such actions, but point out the double standard-that’s all.
