From first link:
"Two things are certain: the Republicans, who are now goading Obama for being soft on Iran and beating their own war drums, would reverse course in mid air with nary a blink and accuse the president of playing politics with American lives and needlessly embroiling it in a war which probably could have been avoided if he had been tough on Iran in the first place.
And what about the Jewish vote? That would be Obamas, lock, stock and barrel, including those Jewish voters who cannot forgive him for the Cairo speech, the bow to King Abdullah, the 1967 borders, the lack of chemistry with Netanyahu and that the fact that he has yet to produce evidence that he isnt, after all, a closet Muslim.
And in Israel, no doubt about it, he would be forever revered as the ultimate Righteous Gentile."
Of course, whether or not a minute part of him cares about being a Righteous Gentile in Israel is another story entirely
Obama already claims he's the most friendly US President towards Israel America ever had.
He'd shoot down an Israeli jet and claim it was because of his "love for Israel".
Obama is Muslim first and Muslims do not like Jews. He'd never sacrifice his friendship with radical Islam to get another 4 years in the WH. He's in the WH because he wants to bring America "down to size" for "all the evil it has done".
In 2012, Ramadan will begin on July 21 and will end on August 19.
August 20 it begins.
Tuesday 4 September - Friday 7 September 2012: 46th Democratic National Convention.
17 days of shock and awe. No congress required.
Looks like Iran wont give him much of a choice.
He will bomb some aspirin factories in October.
They don’t see Iran as a threat in a conventional sense, though Hezbollah wore down Isreali forces in Lebanon sufficiently for them to pull out. Iran is a regional force, not a global one.
No American POTUS would do that without a 911 episode with direct links to the mullahs. And, with this asshat it would take more than that.
The idea is over-flowing with logistic and geo-political quicksand....
From where do we launch an invasion? Iraq - we'd have to re-invade them first. Kuwait? They share no border. From the sea? We lack the transport for more than a division...and we'd need at least three. From Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, any of the FSSRs? Nope - not a chance.
And, I do think that Commissar Putin might have something to say about it.
He would also have to make sure the Chinese dont get upset with him either and esnure that they do not in anyway see this as an attack against them. Actually, to be sure, even the most “hawkish” Republican president would need to ensure that the Chinese do not view it as an attack on them before taking any military action of any kind against Iran. Especially if the reports of their hidden military arsenal are true. No president could convince the American people and other elemnts of govt that we need to draw the severe ire of the Chinese, who could possibly have a couple thousand nukes they havent informed anyone of, in order to deal with a nation we think is trying to create a handful of nuclear warheads. Perhaps he, and by he I mean some of his intelligent advisors if they exist, could find a way to get Iran to react so that attempt to attack Hormuz and so the Chinese turn on Iran and not us. Or maybe they’ll just be pressured to let Israel take care of business on this one; it is evident that the Chinese would be much less likely to be hostile towards an Israeli strike than a US strike.
I can see that. The question is if Iran is that enemy or if it is rather a set of organizations aligned with Al Qaeda. Uniting Americans around the threat of Iran would be a challenge; too many Americans do not see Ira as a big enough threat to justify a full fledged attack, particularly relative to fanatical Sunni states and terror groups. Obama would have a very hard time getting Americans to be wholly behind the idea of attacking Iran over the possibility they are developing a handful of nukes,
