my problem with books like Ann’s is that I read a lot online, so when I pick up her book I feel like I have heard it all before. then I put it down and look for something else. sometimes I don’t even finish them. I haven’t bought a book from one of the talking heads in a few years now because of that.

That's rather sad. I blame myself.

I've probably spoiled you for such pedestrian writers.

Previous books of hers were what I best describe as “shotgun logic”: 5 or 10 examples of her point from so many spots I could never find the common link for her point. It was hard to follow. This one is more refined, though some now it seems some chapters are spread out in the same fashion.
But it is spot on nonetheless.
