On Fox. If discouraged workers* are counted, unemployment percentage is 15.8%. Further, if economy starts to look better and these discouraged workers get back into trying to find jobs, official joblessness figure will also jump.
* people who have stopped looking for work after their unemployment checks have stopped
22.4%.
Most all young couples. After the woman gets off her maternity leave. One or the other becomes (by choice) unemployed. After all someone has to stay home. Better to do that and still collect nearly as much as when employed. Also it more than evens out, as they do take advantage of the entire system. State WIC. State food stamp card (with choice of direct cash deposit) local food charities,, as well mom or grandma helping out.
Would that 22.4% be what they call the “universal unemployment?”
