Today I want to write about something that has bothered me for the better part of a decade. Ive carved out no fewer than a dozen drafts of this post, all strangely unalike, all ultimately failing to accomplish the job Ive set out to do. Truth is, Ive been trying to write it off and on for more than a year now, and the right words have been seemingly impossible to come by.
In the end, and in order to post it, I guess I had to care more about the message than I do about potential backlash. Im not being facetious when I say that I hope I can get this message across without offending well everybody.
What I really hope is that this post will spark and encourage poignant and worthwhile discussion that will lead to some poignant and worthwhile changes in the lives of at least a few people who are hurting.
That being said, I believe some strong words need to be said today.
God hates fags. Weve all seen the signs being waved high in the air by members of the Westboro Baptist church. On TV. In real life. Its hard not to take notice.
Over the years, Ive watched seemingly never-ending disgustingness and hatred spill across the media airwaves from those who belong to the organization. For those who dont know much about that church, they have made a seedy name for themselves by doing drastic things like picketing beneath atrocious signs and hosting flagrant anti-gay protests at military funerals.

One of my favorite truths
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the Day of Judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
Much, Much wisdom in these words from 1 John
If only people could see that their fear, anger, and hatred casts out love. Like doubt, it becomes the anchor that lowers us as it did Peter when he walked on the water.
PS. Guilt does the same thing!

The “God loves everyone” crowd always conveniently leave out the “God hates sin” part of the Bible. Those who want to create a religion which speaks only of God’s love without any requirement to obey God (which is where most of the old denominations have gone), are welcome to do so. But please don’t call it Christianity.
It doesn’t matter what I am. You’re gay, and that’s the problem.
Love the sinner. Hate the sin. Also hate blog pimps.
As sophistry goes, this is in a class all by itself.
lol. It is written.
what did Jesus ever say about gays ? just wondering
The author takes a lot of liberties with Christians, and basically lumps us all in with the Westboro baptist crowd. Frankly, I don’t care if anyone is gay - that is their choice.
I’m just sick and tired of having their lifestyle stuffed in my face, 24/7.
Guess that makes me “intolerant”.
I think “Jacob” is full of sh*t and want to throw pity party for himself with plenty of whine.
Homosexuality is a disease/disorder in the same way that alcoholism and drug addition are. Yet do we go around praising the drug addict in the same way the media wants us to glorify the homosexual lifestyle? I will not condemn an individual for the way he enjoys sex but I will condemn the State for the way they are pushing this degeneracy on our society.
A concise explanation can be found here.

Christianity is not only the four gospels of the New Testament, with no reference to the Old Testament books which came before or the Epistles which came after. You can’t understand the teachings of Jesus without understanding where he came from and the Faith he created. Read the entire Bible and you won’t have to ask that question.
What's going on when every week there's a juvenile attack on religion which is usually; "oh sure Christ is good, but these "christians", huh, what a bunch of hypocrits"
And everybody is a bigot, except our humblw author, who has "studied" the great religions and yet, still can't grasp a single element of any of them except "love evrybody"
What is this? The 60s?
Goodness me, if this is what passers for enlightenment we are in deep, deep sh!t.

I didnt choose this. I didnt want this. And Im so tired of people hating me for it.
Yes. Yes you did chose it or at the very least you choose not to do anything about it.
“what did Jesus ever say about gays ? just wondering”
As part of the Trinity, He rained fire on their cities.
Good post. But I suspect that the supposed loving quotes from Islam were made up out of thin air. I’ve been studying Islam for 10 years and don’t think there is anything like that in the Quran or hadiths. In the meantime, we have perhaps the best documented article about homosexuality on the web:http:

That “I didn’t choose this” sounds like a serial killer at sentencing.
