I read the article with considerable interest, because I’ve been taking a bit of Resveratrol as a supplement that is supposed to be an excellent anti-oxident.

Certainly there have been numerous studies suggesting that red wine (and beer) are good for you in moderate amounts.

Another scientist named Barzilai, at the Albert Einstein Institute, says that this guy was just a minor player. “Barzilai told AP lots of labs around the world are conducting extensive research into resveratrol, with encouraging results, and the new allegation will not make a material difference.”

Good. I kind of like the idea of not continuing to spend money on useless supplements, but it looks like as if this one is still a good to be recommended.

Might want to check and see who is funding the researchers.

I like the idea of cellular regeneration, they did a encouraging treatment where they filtered old cells out of a old mouse and it started behaving a lot younger physically speaking.

I like the idea of having people not only be able to grow older, but being able to be physically fit and as able bodied as a 30-40 year old well into their 90’s - 100’s.

If I could live to be 1,000 years old I would definitely NEVER retire and would be a lot happier if I could maintain a physical health level of my 30’s - 40’s until one day in my early 1,000’s I would just go to sleep and not wake up.

The problem with aging is that when you get so old you cannot take care of yourself, so thus you end up with a large group of people expecting to be taken care of by the government. (not that it doesn’t stop youngsters from feeling entitled either).

Same here.

However, I have long been scepticall that wine was was the best 'vehicle' for getting Resveratrol. I suspicioned it was just too good an opportunity for the wine industry to pass up.

Resveratrol is one of the phytochemicals found in red grape skins. So my theory has been, why not eat the grapes and/or drink the grape juice, which is likely to contain more of it? I find taking the supplements more convenient and less expensive.
